14 pages and can't believe no one has referenced the original Jaws ... awesome movie in its day ... it would make my top 5 ...

What a great thread!  I don't read the forums much as it is usually just complaining (I have done my fair share too) and the complaints are mostly valid, but still it gets depressing as we can't change it - WGT has to listen and do something.  Instead, we get the incredibly insightful thoughts and comments from David Leadbetter - haven't read a concept yet that I hadn't figured out by the age of 12 ... but, I digress to complaining ....

Although I know I'm too late,  here's a few others:

    Cat Ballou

Barefoot In The Park  (Big Jane fan)

There Will Be Blood (D. D. Lewis at his best, which is saying something)

    Kelly's Heroes

    The Battle Of The Bulge

    The Great Escape

    Battle Of Britain

Gotta have a good pirate flick: The Sea Hawk

    Pick a Hitchcock film

    Casablanca

If I repeated any of the wonderful suggestions, I apologize - I read it quickly.

And to those of you who pulled out some absolute classics from my personal favourites, thanks for reminding me!

    Scaramouche

The Italian Job (original, I trust). The Self-Preservation Society! Bridger! Charlie Croker: "You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!" and "'Ang on a minute lads, I've got an idea ...."

Looks like I lose....:)    ^^ then some.

no losers :)  Just a clear choice - -(especially having read every post here and knowing the list was super short already lol)

this thread could go on forever and that's a good thing.- I have about 8 more on the tip of my brain lol

we're all winning with this thread - enjoyable stroll down the isles in the rental store - wall to wall quality selections :)

can't believe no one has mentioned In Bruges

Ronin or The Score are both good - re-watchable but not tip top - worth a mention though

To Kill a Mockingbird - both brilliant in their own way and changed my way of thinking although the latter was a much better book.

Was that Alan, most books ARE better than the films....can get more narrative in ?

( might be the next Xmas sleeve question )
