when you try to hit the ball out bunker with a good lie, either the ball 10 - 15 yards past the hole or it don't move at all. The same for rough around the green with a 30 - 40 lie and when it doesn't move you can hit as light or hard as you wanted it isn't going to move. After have fairly decent rounds then I get rounds where the ball around the greens doesn't going how you are hitting it, I am about to do to you what I have done to Pokerstars and that is stop playing. Software that cheats is not fair

hmmm.......i don't have much trouble hitting out of bunkers to within 3ft or less to the pin or from roughs to within 3 ft or less to the pin......but then again I've been playing for over 3 years compared to your 1 month and that's the difference.

    it's all down to practice.

to the right of this, putting tips, Chip and pitch tips, have a read, will help.

'Also ignore your caddy when he gives you a chip shot from the rough, doesn't work with starter clubs, play a pitch instead.

    And practice, lots

Cheating software, Vem, bad servers. I'm amazed so few people blame themselves for their inadequacies.

Great advice from Kindle, and TBE and Ms Fish are correct. Why is it that every bad shot is the result of programming rather than our own inabilities to master this game. I am not great at this game but 99% of the time when I hit a bad shot, I can at least admit it.

    This!

It includes to learn the limitations of the game compared to real golf. The learning curve involved requires one of golfers' virtues: patience.

Furtheron, the low performance of the Starter equipment calls for the second one: humbleness.

And once you decide to invest some nickels in your pastime, you'll notice that you sit on a never ending(?) spiral slide ;)

But once you nail those flop shots you'll be pretty good. :-)

its a PTW, so if you don't have 30/50 dollars to spend per month, you'll never be competitive...

Play to win? (new to me)

If you talk of money, you're wrong to 99.99% IMHO. OTOH, it may be a nice pastime for 10 bucks per month (or week if you spend more here).
