So I take it you need the best clubs to play and get good scores, The inconsistency of this game is impossible to play. Needless to say I need some pointers which I cant find anywhere...

You might want to check out the Game Tips Section of the message board. Members write how to do all sorts of things.

It probably goes without saying but these two are directly linked.  Starter clubs have very low precision, forgiveness and spin.  Good (expensive) clubs are going to get the ball where you want it to go.

Try watching videos every day, doing surveys when you have a bit more time and get some better clubs.  Even these will make the game far more enjoyable and won't set you back much.  As you progress you'll want something better but for getting a feel for the game they'lll get the job done.

You don't necessarily need the best clubs but you do need some that are better than the free ones.

You shouldn't expect to be an expert after only two days play. Unless you are exceptionally gifted, it takes months, years even, to become proficient at this and you get out of it what you put in. Stick with the clubs you have, learn the game, come back in a couple of months then tell us what you think.

If I bash my thumb hammering a nail in because I'm a DIY n00b, do you think buying the most expensive hammer I can will prevent that from happening again?
