Do they worth, or just another irons?.

Pd: I usually play with cheap balls & have problems with the meter of my R11+90.

if you need to slow your meter A LOT, then probably yes, but they are not as accurate as R11 and the distance range is not very good.

If you need to slow it only a bit, try RocketBladez - they have better accuracy and distances compared to Max.

Edit: if you want to keep playing with starters, Max slow-meter is probably the only reasonable choice... But you could also use relatively cheap GI2-S or GI3-S balls that slow the meter considerably...

    But the question is:

-Keep playing with R11 irons (225 Yards 3I) & GI2-S or GI3-S balls to slow the meter, or

-Play with Max Irons +94 ( 215 yards 3I) & Tour -SD balls to get more distance?.

Take into account that Tour-SD balls give you extra distance in all the shots, & GI2-S- GI3-S slow your mater always as well.

Another good option could be to play with the R-11 irons & buy GI2-D balls, to gain a 5-6 yard  extra distance per shot as well as  slow the meter, altough I'd loose a little spin.

I have played the Max Irons for around a week now, including the Max 3 wood as well.

The meter is nice, slow and smooth, but....

The difference is the missing sping on the Max Irons and what's even worse, I have problems with the distance. The are very inconsistent when it comes to calculating the right distance. Some shots are way too long and some are way too short. Regarding the Max 3 wood, my shots are always way too long, but I have no idea how to calculate the right distance with it.

Maybe it's only me having these problems, but in my opinion, the R11 irons are better by far, this also refers to the R11s 3 wood.

    Any other experiences?

P.S. Maybe we will get the new TaylorMade Speedblades soon, hope to see them as an advantage over the R11.

I don't have access to to the R11S yet, but suspect it's main advantage will be in slightly greater stopping ability for approaches from the fway.  The Max somehow does not inspire the same confidence with stopping that the L84 R11 did, although there is little in it.  The Max still performs well enough there and for me seems to go 240 FBS from the fway same as my L84 R11.  Where the Max earns it's place, over the L84 R11,  is it's 6 extra yards FBS off the tee whilst still stopping on a dime.  It's slower meter, and extra forgiveness (latter only slight IMO) over the R11 on tight shot's generally is also a big plus overall.  I honestly have not seen any issues with distance inconsistency, although I do try and allow a couple yards more roll from the fway.

I am sure they would love to.  Quite how they will be able to improve the R11 irons without making the game play easier though.....I don't think many would want that.

EDIT: IMHO WGT should be looking at ways to allow mixin and matching.  Some may struggle with their 3 iron so might consider a tad less precision / spin in return for a slower meter / also swapping it to a hybrid.  Just one suggestion as many would become open if that happened.  I think that would a fun way to go.  I can't see TM having an issue with it as long as it's their equipment you can swap to I guess:)

I count the Max 3 wood as 247 yards with a Nike distance ball.

With roll out from the fway I would roughly go along with that:) Into any wind / slight up and 240 FBS is what I would work back from expecting a pretty good stop in that latter case.

Off the tee..Not a great looking shot but an OK distance demo of what I reliably get.  I really saved it for use within my CC for what happens with miss dings with wind, but as say OK for here I think (ball well right pin LOL).

One more for anyone thinking about it I guess.  Just a replay so only a demo of it's stopping ability being fine.

Maybe I will give it another try, but the R11s 3 wood stops faster.
