Whats the best type of shot to play when I land in a bunker but the flag is within 10 yards?

At first I thought pitch shot with extra power but that went 0 yards lol.

I would like the result to be near the hole but do I have to accept thats not possible?

full wedge + 10 yds w 1/2 backspin, try it. flop may work  but you risk not getting out. wedge you will get out.

Hi Apple. It varies on lots of things but a full shot works well as long as you aren't too close. You can flop out of light sand but not in all conditions or on all courses. Trial and error and note taking is the best way to find what is best for your clubs and balls.

He said within 10yards.  I flop this shot 90% of the time even if in 40-50% lie.  If it is 8ft uphill or at Merion,  maybe I rethink it.

Some of The Guys l Play With Punch out from the Sand 15/25% Buried Works on Shallow Bunkers, but not High Face Bunkers l Flop 15/25%,  Deeper l Would use the Traditional Pitched Wedge

Bethpage bunkers are the easiest, all of em are 15-20%, so a flop works well there. I put the aim marker 5 ffet left and hit the ding line.

How do I know where 5 foot left is? Probably a dumb question but I can only see a distance in straight lines.

I do nothing but flops and "full" swings.  flops if the lie is not to deep and somewhat level.  Full swing if deep lie or deep in bunker.

Each grid box is 2  feet, so 2 1/2 boxes to the left.
