Due to the 3 click tourney, a few threads have popped up...but got me to thinking abuot the abilities WGT has by looking at specific things within one's bag, as to whether you can enter the tourney or not...so I propose that WGT expand on this Idea...I've copied a reply from another post...what ya'll think?

I do like the idea of equipment restricted tournaments though.

    definitely agree on this point.

WGT has shown us they have the ability to see whats in your bag before tee off...the possibilities are endless..i/e...

    Starter gear only

    no woods/driver

    Starter ball only

    No wedges...

    The list goes on

Now that we know WGT has the ability to restrict equipment, I hope they expand on it within WGT as well as letting Country Clubs have the same options...could really wake the game up some.

Posted this in a different thread, but will say same here.

Starting out on our tournaments to make sure we don't break the game, then move over to country clubs.  Club restrictions we are still testing a few things out.  Hopefully tournaments can start soon with the club restrictions, probably start with a forum tourney.

Thanks for the communication.  For my 2 cents I hope CCs get to choose ball restrictions to, not just clubs.

This may be the quietest rollout of the greatest idea WGT has come out with other than Uneven Lies. I'm about as stoked as I can be of the prospect of having WGT and especially CC Tourneys with club restrictions. Hosting starter club UL Tourneys will be supremely easier and the players will be able to play alone and not have to be validated by playing in pairs. If I could wave a wand and make this happens 10 minutes ago It would be done.

Thank you so much WGT for thinking about and planning such a fantastic idea!!!!! I'm at your service to test any configuration you folks can dream up. I really want to make this idea fly. :)

Thinking out loud here........I hope WGT is not considering very limited restrictions on clubs and balls. By that I mean Starter Clubs or Free balls are the only options.  Consider all brands/models of clubs and balls.  That way you could have much more freedom. For example a G20(L83) and any ball tourny, or G20(L83) and Callaway(L33) tourny.

Being specific will give WGT the option of introducing/re-introducing "specialty" clubs and balls like a hickory shafted starter set and a feathery ball!  Or bring back the popular Rapture irons for a limited time offer and special Rapture tournaments. (to see if Icon can still kick butt with those. ;o) )

it's a very early feature we are just rolling out, so we will be evaluating it and listening to more feedback :)

I wouldn't keen on a "G20, Call ball, TM wedge tourney"

But, I'd be fine with ...

    No driver 3 wood...

    Or no wedge tourney...etc...

Let the players use what they have, just restrict club use (drivers, premium balls, wedges...etc...)

Forcing a player to buy new equipment to play a tourney...I don't think will work too well.
