    As for water free courses:

    Bethpage

    Merion

    Olympic

    St Georges

St Andrews (you have to be dense to water the first)

    Oak

    Take your pick.

Minus Merion - a few holes with creeks at the side and/or crossing.

Reservation on RSG - remember the burn crossing #13(?) - the Par 5 with the bridge.

Mentioned only for completeness: The Swilcan Burn also crosses #18, quite close to the tees. Swilcan Bridge is part of the 18th hole.

    Whats your advice people?

hit a more conservative approach into the green as you would in real life approaching a water hole instead of trying to go for the pin.......at least you'll come away with no worse than a par....also test the meter with a practice swing first to get a feel for the speed....

    .......just saying

What's that big patch of wet stuff in front of the 8th green? :-)

True, but, anyone who considers that water 'in play' may want to consider moving on to a different game :)

Note - Before you get all defensive, I'm not referring to you Courtney.

Indeed Alosso, although I wouldn't go that far.

If it is a potential ball loss CTTH - include Wolf Creek in that - I tend to use one of those giveaway GISD type balls we get sometimes. Somewhat slower meter than starters and some stopping power.

It depends on the type of Ctth round it is. for sweeps where score doesn't matter I will use either the BE-S or BX-D ball. Where score does matter then I will normally use my Cally or Lethal

#10 is the short par 4, no water.... you must be talking about #11 which is the par 4 where you have to lay up before the stream.  With that amount of wind behind the ball, the large drop in elevation & the kick forward on landing, the stream is easily reachable with the 3 wood.....always pays to back-off a little there......or go with the driver into the rough to clear it......
