Until the game programers do something about play ability from the rough, if you end up in the rough just quit the game.

First the rough is totally stupid, if you are barely in the rough u can have a 50% penalty, why.? Are we always playing in the OPEN/????????  that is stupid.  I can see if you are playing in one of the set up tournaments sure increase the rough, but just for normal play its just baloney.

Second, if you find yourself in any rough over 20% just take your pw and hit back to the fairway.  There is no possible way to make any other decent shots.  STUPID..

Wind, another issue, wind either effects the ball or don't have that effect, I have had shots that have a 14 mph direct dw and no effect on ball what so ever, impossible but yup you do this, WHY/?????  You have a 21 mph cross wind and it doesn't effect the ball in the least , WHY?????

I could go on and on with all the (are they bugs or just crummy programing??????) but I'm sure everyone has had the same issue's.

7 million players, no way, your servers can't handle any weekend, and im betting if you ever had 7 million 6.99 million  have quit.

Excuse me, but you are wrong in many ways.

50% rough doesn't mean 50% penalty but "ball buried to 50%". It depends on club and shot what will be possible. From 50/60 I'd punch the ball with the longest iron possible, taking into account the early bumping (FW!) and where it might end. It's only +-15% loss in length.

Bunker is a different thing, from 30/40 you can only play a wedge, don't expect more than 70 yds.

Wind is inconsistant, that's true, but that's how the game is set.

    Have fun!

I'm sure that some players don't realise that if you miss the ding on the side the wind is blowing from, the ball can travel in a straight line.

Or you just have not mastered what it takes. I showed the exit door in your other b!tching thread and I'll show it to you again.

Try to learn from what does not work for you. Doing the same shots that do not work is just ridiculous!

I don't think exiting the game because you landed in the rough is a very good idea. I wish some players developed a little integrity and attempted to the best of the ability to finish whatever game they started. I get sick of players disconnecting from the putting blitz because one player is within 1 ft of the hole on every shot and they can get within 50% of the total distance.

How to play from the rough is an entire subset of the game. How deep the ball is in the rough plays a big part in determining what is, and what isn't, possible.

No doubt, in deep rough often the only option is to just take the shortest route that gets the ball back on the short grass, go from there, and take your lumps for hitting into the rough in the first place.

Hitting into rough on a par 3 usually hurts your score worse than doing so on a par 4, and even less so on par 5's.

One of the things that often separates the better players is the ability to recover from a mistake like hitting into the rough.

The bottom line is -  "Winners never quit, and quitters never win." - Vince Lombardi

What a ridiculous statement, from a 20% lie in rough there is no shortage of club and shot options available to you.

20% doesn't even register on my whoopsometer.

Apparently, the OP is not a 'player'.

Yep, 20% is negligible. 30% to 40% still leaves a lot of options. Over 40% the options diminish rapidly but there are still some.

With a lofted club and a good ball you can still generate a lot of backspin out of 20% rough,

With longer clubs and having a lie that is in 20% rough I might add 10% of the shot distance to my shot strength decision making process but there are indeed a very wide range of options available from 20% rough.

Are u just whining or are you serious..Rough is part of any real golf game and this online game is no different. Miss the fairway, expect to pay some price. I find if i think it through and use my imagination, that is if you have one...you can come up with a shot that will either get you that par or sometimes,,,birdie..I have hit in the fescue on the road hole 70 yards out at Stas..used some imagination and birdied the hole. So if you want to be a quitter..Be on..but you wont get much respect around here. But you have a nice day and try to stay in the short stuff..
