    Hi all:

I use a method of aiming and then compensating with off dinging depending on break/slope ect. Up to 41% one putt with the Rossa.

Curious as to the reports on the #7 as it comes out and curious on what putters some of the big guys would recommend for a gent that aims and then off dings according to feel. I have tried "ding" aiming and it just didn't seem to work as well for me. Of course, straight putts I will go for the ding.

Is there any putter upgrade worth going away from the inexpensive Rossa that would give me 2-3 strokes per 18?

    Thanks,

    Doc

From what I have seen, the Rossa is a very popular choice even for a lot of TLs if you like to shank the put slightly.

I use the Odyssey 70 and this made a massive difference to my game and find off ding works very well it on some occasions.

As for number of shots, I think that is pretty impossible to say...

I can't really see any advantage over the lower level Versa 1. Especially as it costs more. I can't see it being a big seller.

The LVL86+ putter , shows a faster meter , and has a 1/2 dot more precision than the LVL70+ putter . At the same time , it has a 1/2 dot less forgiveness , and balance . Too me , this says that this is more of a ding putter . I upgraded to 70+ putter from the 55+ Daytona , and I love it . Like the Daytona , you can play off the ding , and still make the putt . It holds its line very well on both long and short putts . Once you get used to it , it will be the only putter that you will need . Hope this helps. Happy Swinging :-)

That putter has a faster meter than this Nike I'm using. I can't see me liking that putter, but I guess we are never going to get a free rental weekend anytime soon so,,,,,,

Didn't we get a free rental weekend last year the weekend after Thanksgiving,or Thanksgiving weekend if you prefer? So we might get one next weekend.

I have the top level Versa and get on very well with it.  I putt by moving the aimer and trying to ding every putt, it may not work so well for miss-the-ding putters as it seems to lose a lot of distance on missed ding putts.  I suppose those who putt this way adjust the power to suit though so it probably wouldn't be an issue.

In all honesty, probably not.  Maybe 2 strokes but 3 is asking a hell of a lot of a new putter.

The guy that won the U.S. Open here at WGT won it with the Daytona putter that you are using didn't he?

I have the Rossa but I never could get used to the meter or the meter distance on that thing. I like my Nike that has the 20 ft. scale on there it seems to be easier for me.

There are some great putters for sale that won't set you back 40 bucks worth of credits.
