How do you guys control the flight of the ball in a cross wind.  Do you try to guess how far left or right you need to move the flag or do you hit the ball off the ding a certain distance to make it go left or right.  Thanks.

I do both depending on the strength of the wind. Lesser winds I just move the aimer. If it's like 30mph on St A, I move the aimer and miss the ding on the wind side. Just gotta practice it a little to get the feel.

Try just dinging the shot in wind and aim for flag. Where it lands will tell you how much u need to adjust.

Even easier to do now with mulligans.

My best advice  is never use any kind of spin, when the wind is up.

    Hey Bob,

Check out this thread ... http://www.wgt.com/forums/p/207460/1450659.aspx#1450659

Apex gives you a great way to determine how far to move your ball right or left.  While I don't totally agree with the 1' per 1 MPH per 100 yards calc, it will get you relatively close ... and using the Pitch Grid is a great way to determine the distance you're moving right or left!

    Best to you!

Went to try these things out and realized I don't know how to tell how far I moved the target.

What am I missing.  I know there is a grid when near the green but don't see that when out on the fairway.

I find it more like 1 ft per 1 mph from 200 yds, and in zoom view, the marker box to be 5 ft ;-) ..... works for me most of the time anyways, just make adjustments from closer distances but not by half for 100yds, thats feel I'm afraid

I agree, Mushy ... but on 200 yds, you're hitting a long iron.  at 100 yds, with my 56 degree wedge, it's still that same 1' per 100 yds per mph.

And Bob.  If you're shooting an approach shot, change any club other than 3w, 3h to pitch.  That will give you the grid.  If you move the grid's edge to where it's touching the pin, you've moved 10 feet!

Switch to chip to get the grid, which is 20/20 feet.  Make your movements, and then go back to full or whatever and whack away.

I now use the (mph x  yards divided by 100 x (percentage off 90degrees if any)=foot move)

Works relatively good for me - hattip to ApexPC
