All we want is to be able to use the same flags as the real pro golfers use in tournaments.

    +1 very good point.

    PaulTon:
We would like to  use the correct individual flag of the 4 'home' nations,

Yep happens also in football, rugby and, and..........

Nothing to do with politics, just old nations getting together in a sporting way.  How it works in much except on WGT.  Realise WGT would not have appreciated it, and hardly huge IMO, but missing a fun trick WGT. Guernsey is a nice one though IMHO, and will do in the meantime until I go back to the Aussie one where I now live:)

I read recently the Scots have a resolution to become  independent from the UK.  Hows that work??

We have a referendum next year, where we will be voting yes or no to independence from the rest of the U.K.

The political make up of Britain has nothing to do with the issue being discussed here though. All we want is to be able to use the same flags as the real pro golfers use in tournaments. We would like to  use the correct individual flag of the 4 'home' nations, just like we see on TV.

A very dear friend of mine from scotland sent me this about the referendum:

    THE FUTURE OF SCOTLAND
If Scotland gains its independence after the forthcoming referendum, the remainder
of the United Kingdom will be known as the Former United Kingdom (F.U.K.).
In a bid to discourage the Scots from voting 'Yes' in the referendum, the Liberal Democrats have now begun a campaign with the slogan:
"Please Vote No For ***'s Sake!"
They feel the Scottish people can relate to this.

Also , at next years Commonwealth Games there won't be a UK team , each 'home' nation will be represented as a country in their own right , competing under the flag of their country .

As a Scot i want to have a Saltire beside my name , if that's not possible , then how about the option of not having any flag beside my name ?

Thought that was always the case anyway?

Don't take this the wrong way but .WGT is american based and owned and as such .

The majority of American's do not travel much, having all they need for multi cultures in their own backyard . This makes them very insular and thus not requiring the knowledge and geography to distinguish foreign boundaries as closely as some of us would like .So foreign flags are not high on there list .

Yes it has , that's my point  , individual countries competing , not the "UK" .

I see your point , but on the other hand there are many Americans who are proud to have Scots or Irish ancestry , New York has a Tartan Day Parade and a St Patrick's Day Parade each year .

OK as is other stuff...Olympics it's Team GB and Ryder Cup Team Europe, and so on though.  Just sticking to golf to do here would be no harm (and would be welcomed) in WGT issuing sep. flags...

Yep , as someone mentioned already , in real life golf tournaments the players get the proper flag , so if WGT try to copy the real game , maybe they can do this too ?

Yeah, exactly my point. Probably won't happen though ( unless WGT see a buck in it).
