  Yep , as someone mentioned already , in real life golf tournaments the players get the proper flag , so if WGT try to copy the real game , maybe they can do this too ?

  Yeah, exactly my point. Probably won't happen though ( unless WGT see a buck in it).

  You guys make me laugh. We are suppose to be the United Kingdom, but how united are we when we all want our own separate identities lol.

  The United States of America all come under one flag. I do agree that in golf the home nations of the UK are represented individually. I also understand you are proud to be English. However, did that mean you only supported English people at the London Olympics? In the Commonwealth games England is represented separately.

  What chance would we have in the Ryder Cup next year if it was just us English against USA. I think we choose who we want to represent depending on the circumstances. By saying you want an English flag are you not proud to be British?

  I see both sides of the debate, but I'm not bothered if my flag is English of British. I'm proud to be both.

  You are completely missing the point, we want wgt to reflect he situation that exists in real golf.

  No-one has expressed any anti British feelings in this thread.

  Very proud to be English and British as I know you are proud to be English and Scottish.  And we still enjoy a round with daft banter.

  To our American friends I do not think that is so strange? I have a couple of friends from Texas.  Texan proudly but also VERY much American! And we still have a beer:) 

  The referendum going on soon in Scotland is nothing to do with this.

  In my  earlier question about the Scots  referendum I was not interested in golf I was wondering if they want to be separated from the UK. An  independent country?

  You can't compare the United States with the United Kingdom. Our equivalent of states are counties. We're talking about countries.

  I don't think there's much of a debate here? Everyone agrees that WGT should have flags to represent the country.

  There are sporting events where it's appropriate to have each country represented and there are events where the nation should be represented. The Olympics is a prime example of this. To  suggest that somehow wanting an English flag makes you not proud to be British is a ridiculous assumption.

  With all due respect, Paul, go on a golf course if you want a "real golf" situation. There you will deal with golfing unions like USGA (PGA for professionals), EGU etc. Them showing the coveted flags is their deal, maybe to please the unions, to please the players, and certainly to please the patrons.

  In WGT we find ourselves on an internet gaming and gambling site which happens to use golfing themes as displays. Behind their closed doors they deal with technical and legal problems totally off golfing.

  And if you wanna extend my argument towards "please the customers" you'll have to find a reward for them to justify any investment in a change.
