  If you hang on a little while you'll have access to the L42 Ping wedges which will be as good as you'll ever need unless having the best gear available is important.  I'm not trying to be sarcastic, there are many players, among which I probably have to include myself, who like knowing they've got the best they can get their sweaty hands on.

  My advice would be to get the 64,58 and 52 degree ones.  They hit the ball 60, 85 and 100 yards.  Ideally there's be one that hits it 80 yards to fill the gaps better but sadly there isn't.  There are other wedges that will give you more even spacing but for the money, the Pings are pretty much unbeatable.  Learn to use the punch with them and you should have most distances covered.  Many will say you should learn to use all 5 shot types with your wedges but I would only learn to pitch, flop and chip with the 64 one.  Any further away and a punch or choked full shot is going to be better.

  If you can get by with your existing irons then at L59 the G20 will make a huge difference.  Get the R1 driver at level 48 and the R11s 3 wood at level 41 and your bag is pretty well stocked to take you through to legend tier.  All that's missing is a putter, as has already been suggested, the Rossa at L55 is a great putter for relatively little money.

  That lot won't come particularly cheap but will make an enormous difference to your game and really will be good enough to keep you scoring well from the legend tees.

  An affordable ball and lots of practice are the only other things you need.

  It's not much difference in price, but length (as advertised) plus a bit of all in performance.

  Wedges: ATV or Ping for a start (around level 40), top level Cleves or ATVs in the end.

  For a one-time buy, you need much patience. Think two sets and maybe some single clubs in between. A level 30ish 3WD is a good and budget "driver" to start with.

  No putter below 500 crs if you're asking me. Wedges from level 38. Those R11 coming around right now have a good reputation - level 59 is at 88.000 XPs.

  Ok, thank you. I surely don't need the best money can buy, so to speak. The boss turned me on to this site, so I just wanna be able to compete with him,and maybe win now and then.

  You recommend 3 additional Ping wedges to compliment the G20 irons...no sand wedge...or would that be the 64?

  I've been using the original free equipment from the git-go, all the way to Tour Pro. The only thing I had actually spent money on was balls and that was after trying out some free ones, from WGT, for playing this or that. The extra distance and spin of the Calloway Hex Chrome, I think, helped put me over the top, from Pro to Tour Pro.

  Since making Tour Pro, I was fortunate enough to receive the Ping Tour wedges from OpyEuclid for Christmas. A huge difference in my short game. I've holed out 2-3 shots already.

  I finally made a significant purchase (700 credits) and bought the Ping G10 9.5 driver a couple of days ago. Combined with the Calloway ball, I'm averaging 40+ extra yards on my drives which in many cases, brings my wedges in to play for my approach shots, which has been leading to the best rounds I've ever played.

  I'll hold out for better irons and 3-wood as I level up, and maybe even another driver, but for now, the wedges, driver and ball should carry me to the next tier.

  2 fold answer - the better the clubs the easier the game can be....if you understand what the clubs/spin etc can do. So get your boss to buy them for you as a bonus.

  The downside, beat him to many times and he may sack you!

  The time taken to get the level 83 clubs will take a while, and therefore the lower level G20s is the sensible route and they are great clubs, but not as good or long as the upper level ones (especially in getting the ball to stick to elevated greens).

  As for wedges, MainzMan has offered great advice - the level 42 Pings are great. I tried them ages ago and were very good.

  With the wedges, first look at the PW of the set you decide to buy and work back so you get an even spacing with you wedges. Often you see someone with a 105 PW and then have a custom wedge rated at 100 yards which is pointless.

  Most importantly LEARN your wedges - so you know the distance they will fly, and roll using all shot types and spin.

  Putters are personal and also vary depending on whether you are a ding or off ding putter. I have tried  a lot over other free rental weekends and have stuck to the Nike. Why? I am used to it and I am to lazy t learn another putter (especially the math with different increments). Above all with a putter, stick with it and don't chop and change.

  Every set of irons here is 3i to PW, you cannot remove any of them.  The majority of players carry a driver, a 3 wood, irons and 3 wedges.  And a putter of course.  They leave the hybrid out as an extra wedge will get used a lot more.  You won't find any club here being sold as a sand wedge, they're all just wedges with varying lofts.

  Ok, how does this work... I have the 3 wedges but I can't ace the standard pitching wedge to drop in the 52?
