So my Question is , why can't WGT let us use the balls we have in our bags while we play.
Say I'm playing a Round and it's the last ball of the one I'm using, I have Other balls in my bag to use instead of buying another sleeve,I use Nike, I have Callaiy, WGT and so on.
Can't WGT fix it so we it goes to the next ball in line in the bag instead of going to the free ones.
Somebody look into this Please.
There are a couple of aspect to your post, jerry.
It's virtually impossible to properly determine what is the "next ball in line". One ball has more distance, one ball has more spin, one ball has combination of attributes that equal those with raised levels of the other two. In most cases there simply isn't only one ball that is the "next in line". As in real life, one player's next best ball is different than the next player's. Even if they both have the same balls in the bag, experience, skill level, playing style, even player confidence all are factors.
WGT imposes the "one ball rule" guidelines set by the USGA in the rules for competition. They amended them to allow players to finish a round with the default ball. Otherwise the result would be that you would be disqualified for running out of a particular golf ball. So, just consider that the default ball IS the "next ball in line" in your bag and plan and play accordingly.
If they allowed the player to choose the next ball they open up credit competitions to a tremendous amount of fraud. It would be easy for someone to begin a game with a ball that only has a few hits left on in, run out in the first hole or two and put into play his or her actual favorite with favorite attributes. Hustlers will be preying on unsuspecting opponents even more than they are now.
After all of that, though, I do agree that a player should be able to pick any ball out of the bag to replace the removed one in practice play only. It is not a competition so what WGT is doing is uncalled for based on the rules. It is only being done to drive ball sales and avoid further programming.
