Rented the Nikes yesterday and played several practice and ranked rounds with them. Looking at the specs, I was expecting a little slower meter and a bit more forgiveness - otherwise the clubs looked the same.
Not quite so!
The Nike irons play about 3 yards longer than the Bladez ( yes the meter is a little slower). As to the forgiveness - I remain unconvinced - the Nike 3 iron, in particular, seemed more erratic and less forgiving. The Nike pitching wedge was really good - a nearly perfect complement to the CG 56 degree wedge. it was accurate and consistent (unlike the Bladez PW).
I was not sufficiently impressed to buy them - but am wondering whether to "throw the switch" for the R11s when I hit L 90 (next month) or keep playing the Bladez for another year or so and wait for WGT to bring out a better TM Iron set.
FWIW, if I didn't have the Bladez, I would have bought the Nikes and would recommend them to anyone who wants a pretty darned good (non-TM) iron set.
