Anyone made this switch? I am toying with idea- but hey $40 better be worth it. I have fine putting stats and wonder 'if it aint broke, why fix it" yet many rave about Versa- would appreciate any feedback from those who upgraded from Ghost...

Dunno about the Ghost, but in comparison of the two Versas (rental), the lvl96 has a much faster meter. IMHO this would reasonably diminish any advantage in performance.

The two putters in question have same meter speed- so not an issue for me, but thanks for reply,,,and happy hitting...

I made the switch.  After falling totally in love with the level 92 Ghost Spyder putter and telling myself that I had no need to change, after the free rental of the level 96 versa putter, I was hooked.  Putts, especially longer ones started to drop from everywhere. The only thing I can guess is the added forgiveness. I have had way less lip outs .  I really cannot explain it beyond that. But like it very well.  It seems like I have to hit the ball a bit harder in some cases but the roll of the ball seems very true.  I have yet to sell the level 92 putter back to the pro shop but expect I will soon.

I've had the Ghost Spyder ever since I hit level 35, loved it, 'upgraded' it at level's 66 & 92, but with the free rental weekend thought I'd give the Versa a shot as I'd heard good things about it on champ speed greens.

Tried a couple other putters as well during the free rental period (are you listening WGT?) but there was really no doubt in my heart from about the 3rd or 4th hole that I'd get the Versa. As SB has already said, longer putts are falling far more regularly - don't ask why, couldn't say, just know they are.

As to the question of if it's worth 40 bucks or not, well.......but personally I'm not 1 bit sorry I bought it.

Now off to watch more ad's to pay for the dang thing

SB and New-What do you guys use for gauging the distance? Homemade rulers, PP, avatar moves? Do you try to ding every putt?

Check out the level 70+ versa , for less. That may be all that you will need . You have to also consider your style of putting . Do you play off the ding , or do you move the marker , and play the ding ? Also , as you said ,  " If it aint broke , why fix it " ? As long as you are satisfied , with your game , nothing else matters . Happy Swinging :-)

I've used WGT Caddy for last couple of years, lots cheaper than PP or SP(i.e. free lol), before that was hand-drawn scale taped to the screen.  And yes, I'm a (supposedly lol) ding putter, except for very short ones.

I am ding AND off-ding- as I think some putts can only be made by hitting early/late as severe break dictates. having said that- just won a guild cuz big azz long curlers on OLY went in. Not sure I like the fact many say 'hit hard enough'- sounds like a learning curve...

I suppose it is a case of 'indian and not arrow'- may wait until next free rental and try out then, do appreciate the feedback gents...example- played Sebicu yesterday (top RG $$ winner) and he uses Rossa still to deadly effect (to opponents) lol

I started making longer putts too when I abandoned the TM Ghost putter and upgraded to the Nike Lvl+ Method putter

I don't know about those guys, but I use a Putter Pal (WGT Caddy).

On putts longer than 10 feet I usually move the aim point and ding the putt.

For putts from 10 to 5 feet I only move the aim point and ding when there is a lot of break. For  slight breaks I leave the aim point in the hole and miss the ding to allow for the break.

Inside 10 feet I almost always leave the aim point in the hole and miss the ding to allow for the break.
