The legend tier is tufff and requires a lot of thought and patients

What if you're not very good with either of those two?

Then we are in BIG trouble........lol....I would agree with Knuckle on the green speeds...But I also think that when you take a look at the leaderboards and the number of Ready Go's...WGT is getting what they were trying to.  More players playing in them and more winning a few credits..  But wow these conditions are TUFF

Heh-heh! Gotta agree with Tess, Doug, and the others that "wow these conditions are TUFF"... but it's been fun, too. Sure as hell's been tough to take at times as well, but I think Tess hit the nail onna head.

For myself, in the legend tier, since the change this has become more of a "simulation" than a "game". IRL, I could never expect to shoot the scores I was getting as a "pro" or "master". I can't even shoot the scores I'm getting now on a real public course, let alone on the more challenging ones that are offered here.

This is not to say that I don't understand the frustration alot are experiencing with their newly bestown "legend status", and all that comes with it. As Tess says, with open-minded study and calm fortitude, this CAN be mitigated. For example, in my case... I was really suffering on the new tournament greens. I just knew I was missing something... something that would help me more correctly read the speeds and breaks of these quicker putts. Lo and behold, my problem was that I'd forgotten a basic aspect of the game - the color-changing putt line!

By simply taking the time to note where (along that line) the color of the line changes, and its corresponding elevation, I managed to re-discover a lost element of my game. I was so enthused by this "Eureka Moment" that I went to the pro shop and finally bought the sale-priced master Redwood (with the credits from my legend upgrade) and promptly and "deliberately"... in ranked single-play... shot a 31 at SA with it.

I don't expect that I'll be doing that too often, or too soon again... especially in multi-play (where I tend to hang out) with a clock on my shots, but it helped me to realize that with some thought and calm play, lower scores are indeed still possible... even if they're not as "realistic".

But we all have a gripe to share about this, the "Legend" tier, so here is mine...

Where do we go from here? I mean... even in my wildest dreams... if I could "beat this level". lol. What tier could WGT possibly place above "Legend"?    "Guru"?    "Golf God"?    Not realisticly likely.    I, as do others, still think they should've gone with something like "Grand Master" to pro-actively allow for some "room at the top" for advancement sake as well as future upgrades. Perhaps they've got something else up their sleeves... ?

Above all... take the time to enjoy yourselves... it's a whole new game for us "Legends"!  : ^ )

Pugs I have to agree, not so much as going back and using that nasty redwood master putter (I had it and HATED it) but that is just personal preference. I also took a look at what a few top tier guys were using for balls. The common ball was the G13-S...Funny I had always used the GI Tour-S or GI SD, I thought lets give is a whirl. While I lost some on the drive the meter speed and control on the green was almost what I had as a master. Maybe WGT knew there was something out there but we just had to spend some time and a bit of money (business is to make money) to find what works. You are right, the days of me hitting 5 and 6 under are over (for now), but at least I am having fun again!

Advancing to the next Tier requires a qualifying Average Score AND a minimum amount of completed stroke play games,

You will hear a lot of people telling what it takes to advance to the legend tier or any tier for that matter. But no one except maybe Icon because he works for WGT knows for sure. They don't divulge the exact requirements because if they did there would be many players who would intentionally not meet the requirements to keep from advancing.
