From Brother Leo today:
Hey LB here is the latest:
[1:32:32 PM] phiber ( Leo) : Todays News:
Met with my oncologist and we like her a lot already. She took her time and explained where we are and options today, but also told me that she wanted to move pretty quickly but surly with the situation. The situation has two venues, all depending on a biopsy that will be taken from my liver next Thursday morning
Worst Case Scenario : Biopsy is malignant and is the same cancer as the Adenocarcanoma, it will be Stage IV and will not be curable. It will be treatable and with chemo therapy it can be contained and not allowed to spread or do further damage. OR Could do an aggressive chemo and radio therapy that probably would not produce favorable results and would make me a very sick puppy during treatment. All it would do would be to reduce the cancer but it could not be cured.
Next Scenario : Biopsy is benign. Begin an aggressive radio therapy and chemo therapy that would reduce the size of the tumor in the esophagus to where it could be surgically removed. Possible cure of the cancer percentage is high but not certain. Surgery would depend on the size of the tumor after shrinking and precise location compared to stomach.
So, no really bad bad news and nothing that wasn’t already suspected. She will NOT begin the chemo until she knows more about my liver and I am glad for that. She said they could begin but if the chemo was wrong it would make me very sick for no reason.
Prayers for a benign biopsy on the liver and for God to give my doctors the knowledge and courage to do the right things at the right times.
