How would you set up your next shot in Alt if your partner hasn't hit yet?

Ok right side top the current player view. But if u click current player window it switched full view. Your view minimized. Just like picture in picture in old  tv

    You completely missed the point.

If your partner hasn`t hit yet...how would you know what your next shot`s going to be?

    Ok ,

    In Alt game

you wait until opposite team hits, During that time you can set up. If your partner playing then thats ur main view,

    In Stroke game,

You can setup stuff in advance like moving marker , setiing which club and which stroke to hit. You will have ample time to analyze and set things.

So it makes game 500% faster

Geez, people are reacting like you demanded a mandatory 20 second shot clock ffs!!  No need to change the shot clock, no need to cut down on chat time, anyone is still free to play as they choose to play.  Make it an option.

I support Alex345's idea.  Its an oldie and a goodie and I first suggested seeing our shot set-up while the other player plays back in July 2010:

" IRL, I can begin lining up my putt while my playing partners line up and putt their's.  Give us the ability to switch to view our putt(but not hit it), complete with grid and ability to aim, while our playing partner/ opponent is putting.  A huge time saver in multi-player IMO. This also applies to fairway and tee shots."

I was also brought up again in "2011 Wish List" and received some support.

The window-in-window view IMO is not needed.  Use an on-screen button to either change the whole screen from the opponent's view to my view or bring up a pop-up window with my view over the current screen.  (Right now in an MP game while the other player is setting up their shot I can go to the menu an look at Hole Info, or the scorecard in a pop-up over the screen.  Or I can click on the other player's name and see a pop-up mini profile or view his clubs.)  Both methods are supported and proven in the game today.  Much preferable to a whole new method.

    +1 on alexk's suggestion.

I think this idea is very good.  I thought of this (and am sure many others have too) at some time last year, but more as it relates to 4-player stroke play games.

As we who have played rounds of golf on a real (and virtual) golf course know, pace of play (something that the USGA is trying to increase) is a large factor in deciding when and if to play.  If this good suggestion could be implemented, it won't only be beneficial for Alt Shot games.  I feel that the biggest improvement in the pace of play is in 4-player stroke play games and that a 30-second shot clock (or less) would not be as much of a deterrent as it is now.

On the real course, players walk to their ball and not right behind the other player’s ball.  Even so, while it is another player’s turn to hit, I do already try to setup as much as I can before it is my turn to hit: estimating windage, yardage, elevation, etc.

However, if each person could be completely setup to hit their shot before their turn comes around, shaving 2-3 minutes or more per, person per hole could take approximately 2 hours off of each 4-player stroke play round—especially with multi-player Uneven Lies.

Yeah it may be wanted, it may even be a good idea. Who would program it and would it affect normal game play? I know what I think.

I was suggesting PIP (flash movie inside movie) so people can see what other player hits even though its small.

But easier to implement is kinda camera view with full access

Just switch to other (current) player view. This one pretty easy to implement All you need is toggle button if some one turn to play. it shows up only when others play that time it will be labelled your view , then if you click your view , the button will be labelled current (other player )  view.

When its your turn to hit the button will be hidden.

Where to place the button? next to reverse view. :)

    2 Things.

    First, I couldn't ignore this thread. :)))

Second, I like the idea a whole lot. I nearly never play multi-player games of any kind because I can't stand it not being my shot all the time. 4 player games with me hitting a shot every 4-6 minutes I could never stand playing. I struggle to remain interested playing 2 player games at times. With this idea, I might be able to stand the waiting if I could at least concentrate on my own upcoming shot while waiting. I do enjoy chatting to some degree but after a while, not so much.

    IMO... the idea has merit.
