    8 August,

Sorry for my tardiness getting this posted today ... one of my old threads got resurrected by a troll.

A very special birthday wish to Donald P. Bellisario, who turns 79 today.  I truly hope you a wonderful B-Day Don!

Also born on the 8th is this extremely great actor ... Dustin Hoffman is 77 today.   He's brought us several great movies over his time ... Here are arguably 10 of his best ...

I'm going to give Alexia Raye (19) a birthday wish ... she's just a web video star but very cool IMO.  Here's one of her first viral videos ... all about her.

And Connie Stevens is 76 today.  Just one question to my FOP readers ... was this next song really a hit?  (OMFG!)  ... sorry FYP's ...

It wasn't that long ago that I posted this guy's daughter's birthday.  Today, Mel Tillis celebrates his 82nd birthday.  He's such a "Coca Cola Cowboy" ... lol.

Scott Stapp is 41 today.  He's the lead singer for the rock band "Creed".  I do like this song ...

and Donny Most is 61 today.  Many of you remember him from the TV Series "Happy Days".  Here's a commercial I found of Donny when he was a FYP ...

Another prominent actor in his day ... Rory Calhoun (1922 - 1999) was born on 8 August.  Here's an extremely dated trailer from a 50's movie starring Rory ...

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    SweetiePie:

From the 7th ~1560 - Elizabeth Bathory ~ Hungarian Countess and...the most prolific female serial killer in history (Erzsebet)

~ I was only familier with this name on the fringe...after a little more of a peek, I would recommend some further study of her for anyone interested in the truly "Macabre". Could be as many as 650 torture killings of mostly younger girls. A British 'Black Metal' rock band named "Venom" recorded a song entitled "Countess Bathory" ~check it out, if you qualify~

    9 August,

A special birthday wish, along with a congratulations to the birthday boy, former Laker point-guard and now head coach of the New York Knicks, Derek Fisher, who turns 40 today!  I was so hoping to see him sitting alongside Byron Scott this year.  I'm wondering ... how many NBA fans remember this shot from D-Fish:

Also today, Sam Elliott is 70 years old.  I loved him in Tombstone and even enjoyed his voice in the beef commercials.  But I really loved this last scene from "The Big Lebowski" ...

Thomas Lennon (Jim Dangle from Reno 911) turns 44 today.  Here's a non Reno 911 clip I found with Thomas Lennon ...

And for my last B-Day post for the 9th, back in 1963, singer Whitney Houston (1963 - 2012) was born.  Love her, hate her, think she got a bit whack on drugs ... she always had some extremely great vocal range.  Here's a song I'm sure many of you have heard before (I just hope I don't have to hear it again.  lol)  ...

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    10 August,

There's some really good birthdays to share today.  We'll start off with Antonio Banderas who turns 54 today.  Not only is he a good actor and dancer, but he's also a very good singer.  Check it out ...

Suzanne Collins, author of "The Hunger Games" is 52 today.  Ever hear the phrase, "the book is better than the movie?"  That holds true with this trilogy as well.

Angie Harmon is 42 today.  Here's a clip of her from the Conan show ...

Eddie Fisher (1928 - 2010) was born on 10 August.  He was a very popular singer in the 50's and 60's.  I'm sure many of you that were around at that time remember this tune ...

And another popular singer from that same era, Jimmy Dean (1928 - 2010).  He made so much money from this hit, that he started his own Sausage Factory ...

And another popular singer in the 60's ... Bobby Hatfield (1940 - 2003) was also born on 10 Aug.  Some of you may not recognize the name, but I'm sure if you were around in the 60's you would recognize the group name ... The Righteous Brothers.  I remember this tune from "Top Gun" ...

okay ... I'll admit it ... the lead on that song was more Bill Medley ... but here's another Righteous Brothers hit featuring Bobby Hatfield ...

it's just that song was the most recorded song in the 20th century!

And then there's the original "Tin Man" from the wizard of Oz ... Jack Haley (1898 - 1979).

(I tend to find myself attracted to Wizard of Oz hybrids ... Tin Scarecrows ... no heart and no brain)

Ronnie Spector turns 71 today.  She was better known in the 60's by the group name ... the Ronettes.  Here's one of their #1 hits back in the 60's ...

And to all you guitar players out there ... today is Leo Fender's birthday (1909 - 1991), which brings up that age old debate .... who makes the better electric guitar, Fender or Gibson?

If you like the old classic movies like I do, you might recognize this actress's name ... Norma Shearer (1902 - 1983)

Another classic ... I'm guessing from the hair that this was late 60's or early 70's ... Tom Laughlin (1931 - 2013), better known as Billy Jack ... here's a clip from "The Trial of Billy Jack"

Also today is Patti Austin's birthday ... she's 64 today.  Here's a clip of her singing, "How High The Moon"  ...

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

so many to choose from, I could only narrow it down to:

    Dial M for Murder

    Rear Window

    To Catch a Thief

oddly enough, those all feature Grace Kelly, 'nuff said!
