    SP-

    Happy Birthday!

I started drinking the WGT KoolAid back on Feb. 6, 2009, so just turned 5 a few months ago.

    &

    DKat-

Thanks for mentioning Ella, I just love that woman's voice. Here is one of my favorites, it's from "The Best of the Songbooks", it's called "Love for Sale".

Grab a glass of wine, hit play, close your eyes and enjoy.

Thank you both for the trip down Memory Lane.

    MC

    Edit-

    Forgot my replay.

    Sorry SP.

~ gRo0vY ~  3 years for Thomas the addict, 5 years for Mr Caddie (where are your favorite replays?), a serving of Humble Pie from BC & a nod from 0TE ~ Gr0oVy ~

    April 26

121 - Antonius Marcus Aurelius ~ Emperor of Rome

570 - Muhammed <> Founder of Islam ( he was totally bummed when he found out his 52 virgins were all 12 year old boys)

1573 - Marie de Medici ~ Queen of France

1648 - Pedro II ~ King of Portugal

1662 - Maria Luisa of Orleans ~ queen consort of Spain

    1785 - John Audubon ~ Bird watcher

1812 - Alfred Krupp ~ German arms merchant

1822 - Fredrick Olmsted ~ Designer of Central Park

    1894 - Rudolf Hess () NAZI

~ oh, bye the bye ~

in 1564, William Shakespeare was baptised at Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon, England

in 1865, John Wilkes Booth was surrounded by federal troops near Port Royal, Va. and dispatched with a beautiful shot, a steamin' hot ball with extreme discomfort...RIH

in 1913, 13 year old factory worker, Mary Phagan, was strangled to death by Leo Frank, the factory superintendent. He was sentenced to death, which was the commuted, but received justice from a lynching by an angry anti-Semitic mob in 1915. You play, You pay.

March 2009 was both my 'real' 64th birthday, andmy  WGT birthday; but after a few horrible failed efforts to 'get it' (in the putting / chipping / pitching / rough and sand play sense) I threw in the towel after a week or so and went into stress-induced WGT coma inactivity.

A year later, I made up my mind to try figure out how to get around 18 holes with something less than 90 strokes, lol. So I returned to the fold. Then my WGT education began to bear fruit, thanks to forum tips and advice from superior players.

This little flop for bird at SA #2 long pin is berhaps my favorite saved shot.

09 Apr 2012 - The day I stumbled upon this game and signed away my life....

Great times has been had though - but scary how much time has been spent whacking a virtual ball up and down the courses.

Sorry SP, thought I could get away with not posting one (couldn't choose).

Decided on my 1st ace, which was also the first ace I'd even seen either IRL or here or on TV except for replay.  So much screaming and shouting going on next door called to see if I was o.k.   pmsl

October 24th 2009. Play every day even at work now that they have WGT mobile for IOS. As Kelly said it's scary when you stop to think how much time has been spent here.

I tried this earlier. I decided on my first double eagle.

Great song, MrCaddie.  I so have a difficult time choosing "just one" when I'm faced with such a great singer like Ella!

And happy belated to your Avatar, Kelly!

    26 April ...

    Tributes

    I've got 3 today ...

    • Carol Burnett - more of an entertainer than a singer ... and watching some of the clips on youtube makes me extremely jealous of those of you who got to enjoy her show!
    • Ma Rainey - arguably "the mother of the blues"
    • Bobby Rydell ... to all those here that can remember jukeboxes and malt shoppes!

    Notables:

    • Architect I. M. Pei is 97 - designed the glass and steel pyramid for the Musee du Laivre in Paris

    Actors/Actresses:

    • Channing Tatum is 34
    • Kevin James is 49
    • Jet Li is 51
    • Stana Katic is 36
    • Tom Welling is 37

    Today's tribute videos ...

First, to those of you who enjoy music history, here's a number performed by Ma Rainey.  Check out the record ... accompanied by Satchmo (Louis Armstrong), Charlie Green and Buster Bailey.  2 of the three accompanying her became extremely famous Jazz musicians:

         Next, Bobby Rydell:

Finally, Carol Burnett ... I'm still chuckling from some of these skits:

    Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
