How about a stat reset option. Perhaps 100Credit to reset your stats?

Obviously this would not include your average, but as the average is reset as you move tiers, and given that WGT seem reluctant to change the rest of the stats package a. it must be possible but b. WGT see no incentive to do so. Therefore charge us for it.

I spent a lot of time as a beginner just bashing balls about with pretty little idea of improving, and with no idea of using practice, I just used RR for the extra XP. I would happily part with some cash to be able to do this. Others trashed their stats chasing the R1 some of them would be happy to do so too I imagine. I now keep my own stats and the difference between my current ones and the WGT ones is significant, I doubt I'm alone in that.

I can see how this could be abused but if there was a line in the stats package saying when they were last reset surely this could serve as a warning about potential abusers.

The BEST idea for a new option I've seen so far. I fit "to a tee" everything you stated. I would gladly pay money for it. It would beat me having to keep my own. Many people say "don't worry about stats or averages, just enjoy the game". Well, I keep mine to see "if" I am improving and if not, what areas need to be worked on. My stats since becoming a legend are way, way better than what my stat page shows. I agree it's maybe trivial, but I enjoy seeing the improvement. Oh, and I'd pay whatever WGT wants to charge, just to keep from having to do it myself (and I'd pay for yours, too, Chinajohn, just for bringing it up)

PS...And to keep it somewhat from being abused by the MA's and such, make it a Master level and up only option. I know there are Masters and TM's that are sand-bagging, or lying in wait for MPC's and skins, but there are fewer at that level than the TP and below. Just a thought.

    Hi

stats are just what they are, stats based on the history. I don't think resetting them will do anyone any good since it'll show a false sense of achievement.

I wouldn't worry about it too much and just everyone was in the same boat as others:)

Stats should be flexible I think most would agree; by tier at least.  Wanted to get really funky by course, then last 100 option if wanted to view just that etc.

At the very least Best of Courses in them is totally farcical.  Resetting at every whim of course not IMO, but what we have is getting as useful the other way round?

Yes of course people can keep their own stats, but this is a game competing in a busy life place, and this is an area it falls way short on IMO.

I think on reflection you would agree I have only touched the tip of the iceburg, and that there is much room for needed improvement here if we expanded the discussion.

Fully realise you responded to a specific point, and fair enough there, but holistically we agree more could, indeed should, be done generally ??

If not reset, then add another tab to the stat profile.   say "last 300 Rounds"  tab.

I laugh sometimes, because i look at their stats like putt% 0-5ft is always sorry and not indicative of how they play now, but how bad they were when they first started playing

I wouldn't mind it either, but it's not the biggest issue to me.  Like many, I skipped tutorials and went out as a hack to "learn by experience".  I used starter clubs for 65 levels, and my first set I bought had a lightning meter, so I missed a lot of fairways and greens.  Therefore, my percentages for the first 85+ levels were laughable.  Paltry as it is, my percentages are what they are because I finally have clubs that can get me onto the places I need to be.  Otherwise I'd be good to be in the mid 60s on either one.

Perhaps year by year stats alongside your stat history?

To the person himself, the stats are worthless.  However, they're not worthless when other people look at them and judge.  Sometimes I'll be the guy "stuck with" someone on alt shot because my average sucks.  Of course, it makes the win that much sweeter, but still...they use it to judge you.

+1 for a "Last XXX" rounds stats tab.

I think "Last 100 rounds" would be about right for indicating stats that reflect a players current skill level.
