    Jimbog1964:
I do not use a full shot with the PW  below 110 yards feeling it is at the edge of what it likes to do exactly by then.

I guess I'm quite liking the punched PW recently and find myself using it to better results then the current CLV. Even punched the nike is pretty high and far better then the r11 was, so I came looking to get rid of the 100 CLV from my bag. But presently the Nike PW at 103 to go down to 95 yards and below would be a problem, but a problem solved by a 90 clv. Which later I realized the 80 would be off as well and would need to be 75.

But you are right there is a gap at about 111 to 108, but its not solved by the 100 clv anyway.

Looks like you already decided & bought the CGs. You will not be disappointed. They are VERY ACCURATE if used with just a bit up top spin ( as 1/2 of the green dot on the Callaway name on a L33 ball).

I did and gave a full test on the full shots, they are very useable and more then suit my needs for the full shot.

My concern however with them, is 2 things, the meter speed is significantly slower, and the recovery shots distances may not be as drop dead accurate as the higher level clv. But as i already stated, I need to spend some time with them to see if there is consistency with the inconsistency. Not much i can do about the meter speed.

Ok so there is a flaw in my ointment. Always been readily able to admit when I'm wrong and here i go.

This would of been automatic birdie with 100 clv almost, ended up having to save a par and cost me a shot.

    Full 103 elevated with TW

For the price of one high level clv. , you could have purchased 3 good Ping wedges . 54w L60+ 105 yards , 56w L41+ 90 yards , 60wL42+75 yards . I use this setup , to back up my r11s , and it works great . Also you should have used b/s , when you hit that shot . Yes b/s on punch shots , works lovely , as it stops the roll out .:-)

choke 92% 90, punch something maybe another option.

I'm not sure there's real resistance to this request, I just think most people don't see any point in having a 90 yard wedge.  And if you'd be happy to hit this wedge 92% to play an 80 yard shot, why are you resistant to do the same with your 100 yard wedge in order to hit a 90 yard shot?

My wedges hit 50, 75 and 100 yards.  My Nike PW hits 120.  For me those gaps are about as even as I'll ever get or need.

I'm not knocking you, I just understand why there hasn't been a resounding cheer and a petition sent to WGT.

They actually made it a lot easier to be consistent on the choke when they came out with the different meters. That piece of ruler on the meter makes for a nice reference point for several yardages.  :-)

Actually that little piece of ruler and the word original make a sort of free shot pal. The first O in original is 90%, between the first I and the G is 85%, N is 80% and the L is 75%. You really don't want to go down any lower than that. If you need to choke a club more than that just drop down one club. And if you can't drop down a club it is probably best to change the shot type.

Probably the 80% and 75% would just be used for chips pitches and flops. And that would be just for fine tuning and I use avatar moves for chips pitches and flops for the most part.

Sli - let me give you a tip - NO SPIN distances with your wedges (and mine) - 64 = 62 yd, 60 - 81 yd, 56 - 101 yd (and if you want it) 53 - 116. Again - just a bit of 'up spin' . If I ding the shot, I consistently drop the L33 Cally within 2 yds of the pin. What do I have to gain from fibbing?  Choke your shot for intermediate distances but go with the wedge that gives you the highest "power" for the desired distance - i.e. don't use the 52 wedge for a 61 yd shot!!  But be aware - full shot + FBS means ball backs up (hard) - ((not on pitches, chips or flops)). (BTB - I've got Eagle replays, at SA, from the past 3 days to back this up!!)

Edit #2 - Just to be more clear, each course is different! My notes on the Legends SA tournament (this month)  say add 2 yds to the calculated distance while at BPB #1 they sat add 0.
