Yeah Scott top post , says everything I wanted say.

As soon as I had finished reading his original post and then looked at his WGT name, the red lights were flashing.

I didn't even have to google it, grammar school kid me.

Maybe I was too quick and harsh with my reply. Maybe not. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have read many many times that no matter what golf games you have played before, WGT was a whole new deal. I have never played any other games on a computer so I can't say. I took a peek at the OP's stats and was very impressed. I still don't have the scrambling or fairways hit pcnt. that he has after only 11 days and 44 ranked rounds. Could covering a person with honey and laying them tied up in a fire ant hill bring out the truth? Shame on me, I have never been the jealous sort, but I feel a bit this time.

Thanks for clarifying - double bad for you to be under moderation, so your posts will appear only after later replies.

replying to the 62% scrambling -- how did you find that?
My profile - stats - the third tab in there is "approach ..." showing "scrambling" at the bottom.

im still confused why so many people leave games.

Many reasons. Mind the difference to real golf where you are face to face with the other players and courtesy & etiquette exists, necessary where people meet more than once.

This is but a computer game, it's easy to abort a "bad" game, and some may hide in their anonymity or just forget about the human behind the other avatar.

You actually made it through that huge blob of text? You're a better man than me 1i.

    ScottHope:

Omniscient, as you seem to have a gift for this kind of game I will apologize for my second post.

As for your original question, I will suggest that the other players in your group expect a pro to have a certain level of talent which, looking at your score history, you exceed. So perhaps they feel cheated in some way by your level of competence, or belittled even.

I'm sure we all like to feel, when in a competition, that we have a fair chance of winning and are competing on a relatively level playing field, but if someone in the group has exemplary skills at your tier then that feeling is undermined and the desire to compete disappears.....followed by the player!

↓↓↓  EDIT: Thanks miffers, I've got to an age now where I'm quite content to admit to my errors.  : )  ↓↓↓

    EDIT 2:

    Thank you 1i.

ty for the info scott.  that was in the back of my mind as a possibility but i have been searching for wins/losses for public games and couldnt find anything.  so i initially dismissed that idea since it's not like anyone will ever know after that game that they lost.  i figured it'd be more shameful to have left the game than it would be to stay and finish ur round.  Leaver shaming is obviously not a part of this game, which im just not used to yet.
