I've selected to play a tournament with the RealGreens greenspeed.  RealGreens is intended to mimic real life golf course conditions.  When we play a new course we have little idea how fast the greens roll.  Even playing our home course, weather conditions, time of day, mower settings, green maintenance, etc. all affect green speeds.  We have to figure the green speeds out for ourselves.  So we go to the practice green and hit some putts before we tee off.

That's me on the WGT Practice Green before I tee off on the RealGreens green speed Tournament.  You see, when I clicked TEE OFF the game sent me to the practice green where I get 5 minutes or so to warm up and take some practice putts.  Just like in real life!

By clicking on the small flag next to the camera in the lower right I get options to choose which cup I want to putt at, and how long of a putt I want to hit:  3, 6, 10, 15, 25, 50, & 75 footers are the choices.  I get 4 balls to putt from each spot and I can retry those putts or move to a different cup or distance.

When the timer times out I move on to the first tee.  Or if I'm ready I can click the Tee Off button and go.

RealGreens doesn't stop there.  Although the practice green provides a baseline read on the course green speeds, individual holes will have slightly different green speeds.  Just like in real life some greens are consistently a bit faster or slower because they get more/less sun, or more/less wind.  Of course there are limits to that difference as the greens keeper tries his best.

The RealGreens speed can run the whole gamut of stimpmeter readings.  From what today is called Slow to Champ and anything in between.  The speed can also go beyond today's min and max and include Icon's "crazy" green speeds.

Never heard of RealGreens?  Me either.

    This is a proposal.

I wonder why WGT hasn't bought you a board as Lead Designer or something...

Yep, I was thinking, Wow!  Can't wait to try out this feature I've missed.

It's a great idea, would love to see it implemented.

I wasn't thinking about looking for it - even with the caveat at the end from Andyson - I did go looking for it - so very cool and great idea - hire the guy :)

Incredible brilliance. The idea of not having the green speed displayed but instead, we have to figure it out pre-round by practice putting is mind blowing fantastic.

How much I gotta pay to get me some of this? :))

P.S. HIRE ANDY will ya WGT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting twist would be to have no green speed description, or just Real Greens,  once you hit the greens after teeing off.
