I was lucky enough to get the R1  when it was on the Lvl 93 promotion. I would not be without this driver,it consistently will outdrive the SLDR's my friends use,and they use similar balls to me. It has great forgiveness, behaves well in the wind and has a nice speed meter

I generally hit with 1/2 to full backspin when hitting into a headwind, and with a tailwind hit from 1/2 to no spin. It is an essential part of my armoury and I wouldn't use anything else. And yes I changed to the Nike Lvl 85 irons which are much closer to the meter speed of the R1 and just to complete the set have Cleveland wedges,Lvl 93 Ghost putter and Lvl 80 Nikes. I'm happy with what I am using now,and whilst I am unlikly to be a Tour Legend I am having fun and that is what this all about

Right now, I'm using the 89 SLDR driver, the 92Max 3 wood, the upper level ATV wedges, the 90 R11 irons, the 86 Versa putter, with the 90 nike platinums.  Right now, my club speeds are super slow, especially with the R11's which are normally super fast, and at this slow pace, I compare them to the VR iron sets in speed.

But, I have to disagree with you just a little when you say the VR's are closer to the R11 speeds.  They aren't close on a heads up battle.  Now if you said the speedblades then I would agree with you.  The 75 speedblades are faster than the 85 Nike VR's.  I have played with all 3 sets, and with the VR's I have to wait on them forever, but the speedblades are around .5 slower than the R11's.  The VR's are about 1.0-1.5 slower than the R11's.

If you can afford the new nikes, I'd suggest getting the 90 platinums....

    The lvl85 Nike covert

For everyone considering buying this club.  Save your credits!

After realizing it was going to take a very long time to get to lvl89 and the SLDR I broke down and bought it.

It goes on vacation from time to time resulting in landing at about 245ish mark, sometimes it ends ok and sometimes you are in garbage.

I have been trying to figure this club out for about a week now and I just can't seem to do so.

It is very long with high tailwinds though

I agree.  I can get it in the 275-280 range, but, its like its straining to get there.  It reminds me of that 48 R1 driver when you get to the Legend tier.  I was consistently being out driven by my fellow Legends, Like the Covert, it runs out of gas on any wind condition from 90 to 45 degrees. The best place for that driver, its on tight fairway courses where hitting the fairway is a must...but, on the longer courses, pull out the SLDR.
