Maybe there is a way already but...

The option to disable flash status/friend list that is loaded on every WGT page would be nice.

I surf w/ 2 monitors on my home compuer (I don't now why I ever used only one) and this great instead of having to tab back and forth between pages and I can read tips/posts in one window while playing in the other window (on and on and on) BUT

When I'm looking at a WGT page, and playing on the other, the Flash Friend's list/Status  built in to EVERY WGT PAGE has to load and it takes up resources (so much so that I avoid having both open at once, it causes powerbar sputter) I wish there was an option box you could click and remove the Flash Friend's list/Status on that page.

Even besides the fact that it interferes w/ the flash game, if I were only surfing the forums, and not playing the game at all,  it would be nice to disable it because 1) it slows down the speed in which your WGT webpage can load 2) I may not desire/need to see my online friend's status or my personal stats for any reason at that time.

Even a replacement non-flash stillstore or ad would be welcome in some occasions! Hey, there you go!

I wasn't sure if this would work JF but I tried it anyway. I disabled both my flash players in Chrome, pepperflash & Adobe, and fired up the forum and as expected the friends/status list didn't load. Then I fired up the game in Comodo IceDragon and it seemed to run okay. So if you have more than one browser on your system that might be worth trying, good luck.

My IE works better than Chrome for playing WGT (which is weird because Chrome got a much higher score in the 'flash benchmark test, but I digress) Long story short, I found Chrome's disable flash option (chrome://plugins/) and I bookmarked it so I can toggle it off and on (on, to use Chrome to earn credits on the carousel/watch vids webpage, works better for me) and it's working out, thanks for the advice!

The WGT webpages load so much faster now and I usually open several pages/tabs at a time when surfing the forums. I can have a game open in IE in my 2nd monitor.

Just to add one final bit to this thread JF...

    JFidanza:

After I had disabled both flash players in Chrome I discovered that the earn free credits videos still played, hmmm... and right clicking on a playing video to bring up the context menu comes up with sometning about HTML 5. Going to have to get some info about that one.
