Don't know if I'm late to the party, but I've noticed that on my screen the meter for my driver, irons, and wedges is 73.5 millimeters long, and for my putter it's 72 millimeters long.

When I calculate the % power, it can make a difference of a few yards sometimes, especially on long putts.  (I divide the hole distance by the club distance and then multiply by the length of the meter and then +/- wind, elevation, etc.)

    Anyone else notice that?

It is what it is, and it's been that way as long as I've been playing WGT.

For a while I used a home made Putter Pal, but couldn't use it for regular shots.

The I got the pro version of VGG Caddy and had both scales.

OK, so it's a consistent thing:  the putter meter is always 72 mm long and all the other clubs' meters are 73.5 mm long?

I'm not looking to fix anything; I just thought that maybe different club makes might have subtly different meter lengths (1.5 mm in my case) just to keep us on our toes (thinking that the meter was a consistent length throughout the game).

Just move the edge of the game client to allow for it on tight shots.

There's a horizontal offset, too, which may vary through the game.

FWIW, I use a homemade Paper Putting Pal, a scale divided by 10 and printed from a spreadsheet, glued to the low screen frame. Have to move the game windows a few times through a game.

For other shots, the official scale is good enough for me. It's difficult to calculate the yardage to the number due to the nonlinearity of shot length. I might improve by more diligence, but for me, it would smell too much like working at a computer then.

I figured out that the offset in power is 4%,  so on my homemade putting pal, when i want 92% on my non-putting shots, i go to 96%.   Very easy problem to solve.

At the resolution and aspect ratio of your display. For other players the dimensions may be different.

Hey Pal, get a life, there are people starving all over the world and you're worrying about a 1.5 mm length difference in your meter, cmon.........

ProRuff - yes, there may be a small difference in your meter between putting & everything else - but as Alosso says, the horizontal shift is more irritating. I mounter my homemade "putter pal" in a small plastic trough (cut from a plastic "sheet protector") that allows me to mo9ve the scale back & forth.  I have also noticed that WGT seems to occasionally change the width of the scale - just like they vary the speed of the greens. Most monitors have a horizontal adjustment that will correct for this.

Very meaningful post there Mr Massie - The OP, like a lot of us is trying to improve his WGT game. Positive advice is always welcome here - snarkie comments are best posted elsewhere!
