Noticed there are a ton of uneven lies RG's this week.  Curious if many people are playing them.  I for one have not played UI's much at all.  There are enough wonky things with this game during tournaments without adding another element to the discussion!

They're turning over fast enough where I don't need to play anything else.  Thanks WGT!

    +1

Flat game bored like driving Toyota, UEL a lot of fun like driving Ferrari...

If Wgt add 1k or 2k Uel Rgs wanna happy join (; go go

    - Flat game u calculate dinstances, u need ding, many cheaters there
    - Uel u cann't calculate, u have to estimates shots dinstances like in real world, not need ding, no ones can cheats
    - You need 1 year to shoot 60 avg in flat game & you at least need more 3 months to understand how Uel works, be sure after 3 months learnning it u will love it (:

They're wonderful! Thank you so much WGT for providing this number and range of UEL options (and also for adding weekly, and now monthly, free-play UEL tourneys too).

To my mind, UEL is where the real game is at now. Many of the top players have embraced it for the true challenge it offers: just look at the leaderboards and see the names tackling these tourneys regularly.

If it wasn't wishful thinking, I'd almost suspect that WGT was setting the stage for this year's VUSO to be UEL!

P.S. If you are serious about learning UEL, I strongly recommend beginning with starter clubs (since it's a lot about relearning the game just as we did at the start) and balls (especially balls!), so that you're not using up ball life or losing any to unexpected results. In practice mode, the mulligan feature makes it so easy now to get a handle on the effects. Go out and have fun! And enjoy the experience of really having to think about every shot, and build a score, instead of just bombing long drives followed by wedges from artificially flat lies for a score that comes down to whether one or two birdie putts are missed in a round.

I stand corrected, then.  I am pretty bored with the game, mainly because there are no new stroke play courses and a few of them I avoid (Olympic, Merion).  I don't think I have the patience to try to learn a whole new game..lol...  And I would NEVER spend more than 200 credits on the RG's anyway.  Funny business always seems to happen when I spend more!

    Hey CMC,

Why do you avoid the last 2 new courses that WGT brought in? They're US Open venues and play really nice once you find all the niggles.

Oh, these guys are the horses for the UEL RG courses. They eat it up. I'm a UEL nut as well but I don't wager.

    Cheers... CD

Both courses frustrate me to no end... Olympic with the overhanging trees, doglegs, and major elevation changes, and Merion's greens.  You're right- if I took the time and notes (I don't write anything down- I'm sure most of the good players do) I'd be better.  It's funny- I liked Merion a lot at first and played it regularly- I did qualify for the Open on there.  But the greens bugged the hell out of me, I think once the speeds got faster.  Oakmont is the same for me, although tee-to-green I like it.

I should challenge myself to get better on those courses.  I play the weekly stuff and the same RG's all the time.   I've been pretty stagnant on this game of late (and in life.. lol. Being out of work for 6 months will do that!).

    Cheers,

I know all about getting stagnant with the game. When I feel like it's always the same crap, I load up the starters and play whatever course as hard  as the settings will allow. St Andrews or RSG from the hard tees with Heavy wind knocks me back into place after just one 18 hole round with starter clubs and ball. It's so hard it takes extreme concentration to get through the round. Making pars becomes the happy moments and it all falls back into perspective.

Uneven Lies has the same effect. It takes so much concentration and forward thinking to simply get a couple of birdies the regular game feels pretty easy afterward. BTW, I keep no notes and just remember what I need on every hole. Sometimes that works and other times I get creamed by the likes of Corwyn and Ben. lol.

Thanks for your input CD.  I hear others talk about using starter balls and clubs, and I have to admit I've not ever done that.  Definitely gonna give that a go though, just for entertainment purposes.

I'm also curious what the scores are like for the UL games.  I played one or two by mistake and was pretty shocked at the difference, seeing the ball fly off at all kinds of crazy angles.  In most RG's, the low score is in the mid 50's.  Is a score like 65 valid in the UL game?  I do like the value of par, but trying to figure out those angles obviously takes time.
