Depending on what you did to get your computer reinstalled, you may need to run the windows update.  It should be under your programs list, under windows update.

Be sure you check the optional updates as Office Updates end up getting thrown under "optional".

Malware Bytes is really good.  I'd suggest running it in "Safe Mode" with networking capabilities.

You can use CCleaner to regularly clean the Registry, which is what apparently cleaned up the .dll file error you were getting.

    +1 on MalwareBytes.

    Hey all ...

If you find a program that saves your hide (like MalwareBytes), buy it.  The programmers that develop shareware and/or offer free trials are hoping you'll support their efforts.  Some of these "shareware" programs are written by college students and made available to you to help support the educational system.

I doubt any of you work for free.  Why should you feel shareware programmers/developers should?  If there's an option to purchase or donate, please do so.

    That's my 2 cents!

Holy macaroni, I think it is fixed.

I've clicked my mouse a dozen times, started a few things, and no wretched pop-ups.

    Unbelievable - just unbelievable.

Thank you everyone for trying to help, I really do appreciate it

a couple of words to the wise...

create a partition for your C: Drive before you re-install all your programs and files, then put them on a separate partition(E: F: whatever)...that way if you have to do a fresh install of the OS you don't lose everything because your just re-installing the C: drive....

AVG free anti-virus(as good as any) and run Malwarebytes at least once a week...it fixes just about all of them...

run a program along with your OS called "winpatrol", it's free and it will keep those malware programs from making changes in the root directory....
