I am very off and on with the ability to get a ding or near ding. I am wandering what method of tracking works best for all you dingers out there.

Do you concentrate your eyes on the ding line or do your eyes follow the meter as it moves towards the ding line?Do you use a counting method? What works? I know it will be a different strokes for different folks kind of answer but maybe I will see an idea that helps me.

I feel if I could improve my ding/near ding percentage I could drop several strokes from my average.

I watch te slider and press the mouse button a little before the dig how much before depends on the speed. Also I usually play a draw. therefor Iaim a little rigt of where I want to end up and allow for the draw but not so far rightthat if I hit the ding I get in truble. Good luck, tony

I am lucky to ding once every 10 shots.  Doesn't matter what balls and whatnot.  Infuriating on putting when I need to ding.  Missed a 4 footer with not too much break yesterday all because of missing the ding.  I can miss the ding by a mile.  Guess I learn to cope is the best I can do.  If I dinged just 40-50%, I would be shooting in the 50s.

I don't ding much either. My advice would be not to overthink it. If the meter seems too fast then try a couple of rounds with starter balls then it all seems slower.

If you want to improve your game , you first have to improve in these areas .

    Driving Acc.77.09%

    G.I.R.69.19%

    Distance to pin 16 ft.

    One Putt % 30.49

Hitting the ding is not a guarantee , of shooting lower scores . Thats just a myth , to make you chase your tail . You have to learn ball placement , and good course management . It also takes good shot selection . Work on your short game , and get your pin distance down . That is a must , to improve your scoring .

Too hit the ding , you focus in front of the line , let the meter come to you .Much like playing baseball , you lead the meter . Personally , I only play the ding , on either head or tail wind shots . Other wise , I play off the ding , allowing for wind . From tee to green , its how I play . I even putt off the ding , allowing for break .

So the best way too improve your scoring , is by doing 1 thing . Practice , practice , and more practice . Work on those areas which I pointed out , and you will improve your game . Good luck , and hope this helps . :-)

Dinging is not the bread and butter of the game.

I have days or games I ding 90 % f the shots, others I can't ding 3. My opinion is that meter speed changes(maybe to combat autodingers?) Anyway, if I notice I am clicking too late, I try to click earlier, or viceversa. If I have left wind, I aim farther from the hole and don't bother to ding, or viceversa, aim a bit closer and try pulling it. Weird that in the second case I get a lot of dings, lol. Same for putts. I bought the Versa, supposedly best(price-wise is worst) putter in the game by specs, guess what? I was missing so many putt I went back to the Rossa, which I have always loved. I get more putts by not aiming for a ding than trying to ding. I know I can't easily ding, so I aim a bit closer and click before or passed the ding line. The game is a SOB and sometimes I try to push and get the this time unwanted ding... but that's how it is. Anyway, some of my stats, that not always reflect how good a player is, speak for themselves. Others have other methods, but this is mine. Good luck.

What works for me is to focus on the ding line and let the dinger enter your peripheral vision. This will give you time to react to a hesitation or stall once you train yourself to let it go. Couple that with a pre-shot visualization of the result you want (pixel or 2 early, late, etc.)

Oddly enough, you can actually create what appears to be an erractic movement in the meter. Get to a tee and try both ways. Follow the moving line from the start for 3 or 4 swings. Then focus on the ding line and swing another 3-4 times. The meter will appear smoother. Your eyes would have to travel at the exact same speed as the meter does for it to be smooth every time whereas just focusing on the ding will negate that speed requirement. I find this works better with faster meters.  :-)

I just put my mouse pointer exactly where I intend to click every time. I click when the line reaches that point. People use different methods.

What works for me or for someone else may not work for you.

I follow the down swing indicator on the Original meter as it moves from left to right and a key for me is to be sure I move my head from left to right too as I track the moving line with my eyes.

But, not from the top of the back swing.

I start the down swing, then position the Swing cursor over the Ding! (Excellent) line and then pick up the moving indicator with my eyes when it is between 1/2 and 2/3 of the way to the Ding! (Excellent) line.

DING is KING if you adjust for distance wind and elevation correctly,if your tendency is to hit late or early adjust accordingly, unfortunately most of us are not able to ding at a very high percentage so even the best players average between 10 and 15 ft to the hole, that's where a high 1 putt percentage comes in to play, master your putting and the ding becomes secondary to shooting lower scores..........................
