PaulTon: Spending a few extra credits for a different
color sure beats spending double the credits for another white ball that
hardly has any added benefit.
And I could not agree more, but this should fall on WGT having a more detailed and correct rating system of all balls for sale.
For example, I know that the differences between the Nike L48+ and the
Nike L71+ are very minimal. So small they would rarely, if ever, be
noticed.
Yet, it takes a player 23 more levels to pay 50 more creds for, essentially, the same ball. You also have the psychological effects that can come into play here, for any number of players, i.e. pink & yellow balls. But for every player to have to do what you described, just to get the truth about the ratings on a ball, is crazy and much more time consuming than the game already can be.
I wish I had your dedication. and patience, because I don't like putting so much trust into any business, much less one selling virtual products. Plus, I have a feeling if I did personally rate every ball here I would come up with some disappointing and upsetting findings. Hey, sounds like maybe a gr8 project for someone here who enjoys that type of thing.
I have neither the patience, time, or mathematical skills, making spreed-sheets, etc. but I know we have players here who have all these things. I would even be willing to gift them a sleeve or 2 every time I had the extra creds to help out. Maybe we could have a WGT Player's Golf Ball Rating's thread. I know I'd look there before buying a sleeve based on what the Pro Shop rates them. Especially this 'durability' rating that I think we all know is not the same for every ball.
