Funny post about having a "Grandmother" appearance for our players.  Now, to everyone on here... under U.S. Open conditions very few of us would break 100 at Bethpage Black.  I'm wondering why we insist that we be better in virtual golf than in real life??  I think the tag-line for this WGT game states that it is the world's "most realistic" virtual game of golf.  Having said that I still wouldn't mind being a little longer off the tee.  And I'd like some Titleist Pro-V 1's in the shop, please.

The key word is Virtual and you are missing the point in complaining about driver distances.  The leader board has the best virtual players posting in the low 60s.  Obviously, the game designers are doing a great job of balancing the equipment to the courses.  If driver distances were increased, then the low scores would be lower... if you aren't posting a competitive score now, you won't with changes in distance either.  (And if you want to play with the default equipment then accept that you are playing for fun because what would be the point in paying for better equipment if some noob with default kit can beat you?  Same line of reasoning... better default kit means better paid-for kit and lower scores that you still have very little chance of beating.)  The game has to balance somewhere and this is as good as I've seen.

... I actually came here to see if anyone has noticed that 'aiming' the flop shot is lining up the stance but with an open club the ball flight is about 15 degrees right of target?  Has anyone else noticed this or is it my imagination?

I've noticed it and have adapted to it but find the flop shot actually doesn't sit down very quickly... rolls a lot, like other shots... so I rarely use it.

Thanks, dude.  I've noticed that none of them sit down very well... not spinning it back like the pros, lol.  I find the flop useful for getting out of trouble, just like the tutorial said...  in the bunker with a high lip or the rough, I find the flop better at getting out.  Maybe I just need to work at staying out of trouble so I don't need the shot.

Okay, let's be realistic.  In real life I hit the ball off the tee 260 consistently with 10 handicap.  In this game, as a so-called pro, I can only get 240?  I think once you move up to pro and the swing meter speeds up, your distances should also increase since your penalized so severely for missing the mark.

Well imo its a level playing field..its pretty realistic..if you want an easy game play tiger woods..you want to hit it 350 and have a wedge into most greens?thats a kids game.

Being able to hit the ball 230-245 yards off the tee from the Pro tee is tough.  It leaves your second shot much longer making the birdie putt longer.  Adding a few more yards would help quite a bit and  be more enjoyable.  I am not looking for a 300 yard drive but just want it to be fun.  For instance when I get to a shorter par 5 down wind I can have the chance to go for it in two.

My longest drive is 268, that was a perfect drive with the upgraded taylor made driver, but usually like the rest you hit it about 230 to mid 240's. Short drivers, rubber greens..the ball bounces on the greens are the ones that perplex me the most in this game...it's like boingggg even if you hit low on the ball. I think in general you have to learn how to play this game in particular and take your regular golf game way....way out of the equation. I have said it before...anyone who compares this to real golf has never played real golf, cause from a 2 hadicap golfer no way in hell, sorry WGT, good graphics but your still way off making this game realistic.

some things really are messed up in this game with distance

I just used the arrow to find the 170 mark on the green. I hit the shot 174 and it was short of the green. That is MESSED UP
