Playing the best of par 4's I hit with a starter hybrid (190 yds.) 3-5 mph with the wind and perfect on the swing meter. The ball hits the green and only traveled 180 yds. WTF, how can you play this game with inaccurate distances. So frustrating. If you club up then it flies over the green. I know golf is a difficult game but this is BS.

some clubs have lack of distance, expecially 4i - 5i

Complaining after one ranked round. What will you be like after a hundred?

What angle to the line of the shot was the wind direction?

Did you use a full swing?

    Club Precision defines a circle.

The more Precision a club has, the smaller the circle.

    Pro Shop

Precision: Defines generally how close to the aiming point the ball will land based on where you hit on the swing meter.

On a Ding! (Excellent), the ball can land anywhere within that circle of precision.

Applying back spin to the ball generally reduces the length of the shot. If the shot is into a head wind ball spin reduces the length of the shot even more. If the shot is with the wind back spin limits the distance in the air the ball will fly, but the downwind condition adds roll once the ball lands.

Club trajectory will also affect distance based on wind speed and angle to the line of the shot.

In short there are quite a few variables that determine the out come of your shot. Accounting for all the variables that will influence each shot is pretty much what separates players by Tier.

Equally important is the elevation of the green.  If it was Bethpage Black holes #5 or #15 the green will be 25 ft above the ball on #5 and 34 ft above the ball on #15.  A general rule is to add 1 yd to the shot for every 3 feet of elevation.

    Thus a 190yd  club on #15 could lose 34 / 3 = 11 yds

None of the above matters, (no offense intended).

The Club Distance Rankings are GUIDELINES.  It is up to your own experience that will reveal the potential of your clubs.  If things don't jive, then perhaps, the experience level requires tweaking a bit, no?

    just sayin'...

We all, old members and many new too, know that some distances at some or many holes are inaccurate indeed. I can see how frustrating it is for new members or for people who did not noticed this inaccuracy before and suddenly make mistakes in the approach.

I can't tell you which holes you need to be careful with because it will take me days to mention. Best thing is to take especial notes (even write them on a piece of paper) or the WGT notebook whenever you step on those wrong distances holes.

Because we have played those hole hundreds if not thousands of times, we can estimate the "error" distance margin and get a good shot distance result....experience, nothing else.

Pinehurts as the newest course in WGT, has its big mistakes particularly in the last 3 par 4 holes approach shots where you need to add 6-8 yards, Yup it sounds unfair but there is nothing we can do, WGT won't fix those things (many hours programming I guess) and they give for granted that we, players will figure that out by playing those holes over & over.

Turn off the Menu > Game Settings > Distance Markers.

Hover your cursor over your ball marker in the mini-map at the lower right to see the distance to the hole. Move the aiming point to check distances to hazards.

Be sure and allow for elevation changes - approx 1 yard per each 3 feet of elevation change.

get out while you still can, if not definitely take notes...
