    gdog8:

    Sleeve sent m8- Thanks again-GD

Nice gesture GD, and hopefully something that can be followed through by others. Its the least John deserves for grafting so hard with this competition. Well done to Mianzman on winning outright, and to everyone else for making this a great competition.

Congrats to John also for putting all this together. We know you put  a great amount of time and effort into it John, and you did a sterling job of it mate.

On a side note. I got off to a slow start in this, and remember i was down in 30th position after about the first week. It was great craic watching myself climbing that table and eventually catching up to the big guns. But alas, it was a little too late.

    Well done all involved.

Congratulations to MainzMan on becoming our Predictor Champion!

    Superb showing, D.

You do realise that you managed to forecast  the outcome of 66% of the total fixtures played.

Almost 22% of those were actual correct scores.

Given that the minimum return on a correct score is usually around the 4 or 5/1 mark you would have had a very nice return overall from a real life bookmaker..... might even have allowed you to purchase a chat with Chad! LOL

Thanks to everyone for participating - thoroughly enjoyed the last month or so reading the comments.

Shall we do it again for the Premiership?

How can we improve things for next time?

Thoughts on the World Cup event itself?

Gotta dash for now - will be back laters with more info.

*To those that sent me a sleeve of my usual....  stoap it ffs!!!

     Cheers guys, very much appreciated.

Nah, it really has to be the Scottish 1st division...

Great job Johnny, thank's bud, must've been a helluva lot of work and commitment to see it through.

Thanks for the congrats everyone, it really was a case of a little knowledge going a long way.

I do seem to have a knack for these things though, I won one over here during the Euro Championships 6 years ago, by a large margin and against some very knowledgeable football fans.  Kept me in beer for a while that did.

A massive thanks to Johnny for all the work he put into this.

Also thanks to all those who kept predicting in all the matches, I think anyone who organises one of these things really appreciates it when people stick with it to the end.

All those matches, all those goals.

    Time really flew.

    It was a blast though.

Would love to see one for the Premier League, how in depth would you want to go to make improvements Johnny ??

Perhaps keeping it simple like this one  , but maybe add points for correct result

0 points for getting it wrong

    1 point for correct result

    3 points for "spot on"

Maybe a selected match each week with bonus points for 1st goal scorer ?

Anyway whatever you decide i know ill be on it.

    regards

    stu

I would definitely be interested in taking part in a season long competition.

Doing it for the EPL only may favour the U.K. participants too much.

How about choosing say 8 games from the major European Leagues each week. You could have 2 x EPL games, 2 x Bundesliga, 2 x La Liga and 2 x Serie A.
