    TDSLIMIT:
Just make sure when you do you back up the tee boxes also.

    I don't think that's possible.

    andyson:
Not needed IMO.  Why spend your limited resources on something that affects only the 1,000 TLs?  I'd rather you spent time on features that affect the 100,000s of all players.  Something like adding new pins to Royal St. George's.

Yep, not like we can have a Champions level on a mediocre platform.

Champion at what, avoiding the bugs?  :)

Hmmm  I  dont like the "Champion " tittle, imo " Elite would be better, And to reach the lofty height of the Elite Tier the stipulations would be.

    1, Have earned 20k+ credits

    2, Shot 55 or less on every 18 hole course..in a RR

As I see it it all comes down to this:

Having a tier system is a good idea, but he existing classification mechanism is flawed.  It's flawed because regularly killing it in tough conditions is ultimately no different than eking out a 29 or 30 once in a while from short tees to slow greens in low wind.

The best way to fix this is to make it a two-way street.  Demotion has to be a possibility.  Membership in any tier must be both earned and maintained.

A player could be classified based on a true average over the previous X number of rounds OR credits earned (and by earned, I mean after the initial wager is returned) in all formats including RGs, brackets, MP, skins and blitz.

Earnings could be displayed as a rate stat, too:  +112 credits per 18 holes, for example.  Or -17 or -56 or +21.  That might be a better way to express it.  It could be calculated over all rounds or just for rounds with money at stake.

There's a simple answer for sandbagging, which is that a player cannot move down until more credits have been lost than were earned when moving up.  For players who don't gamble, only the scoring average needs to be used.

Promotions would occur immediately, demotions would happen at the end of each month.  Averages for each tier wouldn't be fixed, but could change as the game evolves.

There are already enough tiers.  If each of the existing eight tiers includes a four stroke difference in average, that's 32 strokes among them, or averages ranging from 55 to 87.  Want tighter groups?  Three strokes still gets you from 55 to 79.  Anybody with an 80+ average doesn't need their own tier, they need to practice.

I'm sorry if this is long and messy. I wound up just throwing some ideas out there.  Point is, I think the best thing WGT could possibly do is to junk the current system and start over.  Short of that, at least try something different (like the Q school and tour) for any new tier.  X average over best Y rounds doesn't work.

You have to discount earnings...many players cannot play RG's/etc, nor be eligible for big prizes, and so on.

Additionally many players don't play for credits (yet)...so this has to be considered.

Add a new tier.   Players who have an  average of  57.  Or below .          Should be considered Tour Champions.     Players who have a 57 AVG or lower Tend to birdie 8 out of 9 holes.    Also most can bird 13 out of 18 holes no matter what course they play.  On a Par 70 course   13 under is a 57.  Again most TL can shoot a 13 under in their sleep.

    Here is an Idea...

    Hack.                       players who Avg.   150-101

    Amateur                  players who Avg.   100-81

    Pro                          players who Avg.    80-74

Tour Pro                 players who Avg.   75-71

    Master                    players who  Avg.  70-66

Tour Master            players who Avg.   65-62

    Legends                  players  who Avg.  61-60

Tour Legends         players who Avg.  59-58

Tour Champions     players who Avg. below 57

Now of course your going to have to have a set number of ranked rounds played to advance to the next tier.  But It should be a  lower number than it is now.  Due to sandbaggers.

Example.  It has been said you have to play at least 300 ranked rounds to move from Tour Master  to Legend.   ( Not sure what the number is).  Ive also heard it takes  500 ranked rounds to go from Legend.  To  Tour Legend.

Those numbers need to be lowered.        And I am In favor of backing up the Tour Champions tee boxes.    If Legend and Tour Legend tee boxes have to move back some also.   Then so be it.         Cheers   Donnie

    I agree..."NO" new tiers needed!

I do have a suggestion...I'm only an average (probably below) Legend player. I have played against some of the top Legend and TL players & I have been able to compete and even win rounds against them! "YES", you better show up w/ your "A" game, but they can be beaten on any given day. Now, my suggestion! These tournaments should be threesome or foursome play w/ time @ shot just like regular play. When signing up for these big tournaments you will have to be available to play @ a certain time just like in real golf. I can roll in some really low scores w/ "NO" time limit in between shots and do all the math calc's on shots and putts. I believe that (maybe) the really insane low scores in these tournaments would fade away w/ this type of play...Just a thought!

    Here's another idea:

Make equipment availability TIER BASED also!! ... whichever comes first, Tier or Level.

Seriously, this is so basic and obvious.

    1.  WGT makes more money.

    2.  How unfair is it to limit the distance, accuracy and spin of clubs to certain players within a tier???  It's exactly like saying  Jordan Spieth can't use the best equipment available on the PGA Tour because he hasn't "Leveled Up" yet.  He's gotta play less than the best equipment until he plays all the courses on the PGA Tour 50 times.  LMAO...  Totally unfair.  Absulutely ridiculous!  It's totally ridiculous to compete in a tier where players can drive the ball 15-30 yards farther and hit more accurate shots from a closer distance that dart dead spin stop.

    3.  Think of some other rewards for Leveling up into the high 90's and beyond.  Like how about a DISCOUNT on clubs???  Sheez - WGT you got some LOYAL customers who are in the 98+ Levels.  Why not reward them with some discounts... or some special FREE tourneys with decent payouts.
