    Been here for 3 years now and keep seeing threads on this subject . We all know for the most part that when we run out of balls during play , the game gives us a chance to buy more , or we finish play with the free ball . Many players complain about this because they cant use another ball in their inventory .

    So to resolve this issue once and for all WGT , please change to the new suggested policy ;

    Players should receive 3 notices that they are on their last ball . If after 3 chances to purchase more of same ball the player fails to do so and then runs out . That player is then disqualified from the game . No more allowing them to finish the game with the free ball . The only exception to the rule will be when playing practice rounds and practice rounds only .

    This new policy would not only be fair , but it would also make players be more aware and responsible during game play . This should also help you WGT in the revenue department through ball sales .When players know they will be disqualified from the game because they cant finish , they will then purchase the balls they will need to do so , especially when credits are on the line .

    So how about it WGT can we get a new ball replacement policy like mentioned above? Can we finally do away with the crying threads about be allowed to use other balls from players inventory to finish a game . Or must we continue to endure the repeated beating of this dead horse . Help ease the pain :-)

    Or, have a pop-up like the "Gimme Putt" with;

    Buy Now -- Continue with Free Ball --  Forfeit Game.

    Excuse me, aren't you curing the dead horse with renal dialysis now?

    Given the fact that there is no ball choice, the current procedure seems 100% perfect.

    We have the chance to
    - buy balls,
    - continue with the free ball,
    - or to forfeit the game.

    There will always be whiners who cannot read or expect everything their way. For me, there's no reason to waste attention and design time on them.

    I'd rather have the time display fault in CC tourneys resolved, and ... and ... and...

    As long as WGT advertises itself as "The most realistic golf game on the web" the complaints will continue. People coming from a real-world golf background will continue to demand that in that quest for realism WGT apply the rules as closely as they can to real life. In real life the One Ball provision is only applied by tournament committees in tournament play. It doesn't enter into consideration in any other competitions. It doesn't apply to normal rounds involving handicaps (ranked rounds), even games in which players are betting against each other. Let the gamblers beware. It especially doesn't apply to practice rounds.

    WGT hides behind their veil of secrecy rather than communicate effectively. If WGT doesn't want to provide more realism on this issue because (a) Mr. WGT doesn't want the players to have a choice, (b) WGT IT feels the programming would be too tough, (c) the accounting department sees it reducing revenue for the company or (d) some other reason, fine, Communicate with your customers. Simply and honestly say

    "No change to this part of our game is going to be considered at this point in time."

    Give us a simple statement from WGT that people can cut and paste as a reply to every thread about this.

    WGT's actions to date clearly indicate - "No change to this part of our game is going to be considered at this point in time." - has always been, and continues to be their position on the matter.

    Apex- we see it over and over again from customers like yourself. Why don't we see it from WGT? Why are they relying on you, a customer, to state their company position instead of officially saying it themselves? As often as this issue presents itself a moderator should be pasting a standard answer in every one of these threads.

    I agree with the notion Lonnie BUT cannot imagine this will change and if it did I would hate to see what new bugs would result due to programming incompetence.

    However as Alosso states - there are more pressing issues  - all as a result of the said programmers.

    As pointed out by sremllin communication by WGT is virtually non-existent and the mods tend to have no more say than Joe Bloggs playing the game. All they do is pass the requests on to someone else who also has no real say or input and to me, every request is passed around like a hot potato.

    WGT has no obvious managerial structure and no face of the business. When complaints flood in the poor Mods take the brunt but no-one from the company actually fronts up and communicates with the players as for the reasons of the source of complaints.

    And when someone finally makes a call, the programmers say "too hard for us - do you really think we know what we are doing Chad?"

    WGT is a great concept and still offers a lot of fun, but is limited on the current platform. The company has a proven history of putting money before quality and slowly strangles itself with the emphasis on cash generation and poor customer service.

    Most of the time, we see the mods pointing at or interpreting the FAQs, giving the facts without much argument. Apparently, they need not say more.

    Those users who volunteer to help their co-users here spread the word (I may have done so, too, at some time). But, in principle, there's nothing more to say than to point at the FAQs - enough of a statement by the company probably. Any allegories of ball wear and One-Ball-Rule are only folklore IMHO.

    And, those who call for realism should not forget real golf's entry costs, membership fees, green fees, travel and extra expenses. Me thinks that the costs of an extra sleeve to finish a virtual round is negligible against these.
