Jacksonkent:I have an issue with one hole on Kiawah Island the 14th the hole is 240 yards long and if I take my 3 Iron (220Yards) it carries 20 yards over the green 260 Yards.? It is 7 feet down and with a 6 Mph wind, does this make sense?
Actually, it does make sense. First, looking at the irons you're using, I thought the 3 iron was rated at 225 yards. And then couple that with a higher distance ball like you have as well as hitting off the tee, I can easily see that happening.
I hit Callways L33 balls and with my TaylorMade RSi2 (L90+) irons, I've hit my 3 iron over 250 yards off the tee, given the right conditions. That iron is also rated for 225 yards. But from the tee, I can consistently get from about 235 to 240. The Callaway ball is only rated 3.0 for distance (IIRC).
