    MBidney:

being 3W approach shots and the BB 3w seems to have about .000001 dots of precision.

That is not VEM, just a garbage club.

Away from all the VEM talk which frankly I long since lost track of I do think that is a very good point in itself.  Dinging that thing is no mean feat, and watching a dinged shot so often wander off like a drunken sailor is second only to my drunken sailor language at it.

No way should that thing be rated at 4.5 precision with its erratic nature IMO.  That's stretching the sales description in to almost falsification territory, and reflects poorly on WGT IMO.  I personally don't have a problem with the less forgiveness when I miss, but dinged precision veers from great to terrible too often.  Might all be OK but WGT know full well it would not have sold like it did if we all knew that at the start.

They need to fix this issue IMO.  I guess they may do that with a 5 precision club.  What they should be doing is giving everyone who bought the L89 BB a 50% discount to make up for the poor quality L89 BB...OK dream on but ...........

Anyway apologies for the hijack to any one who gives a crap, interlude over back to the VEM, lol.

Regarding Helen Keller quote, add this one involving Her personal experiences -

While you may be right about me being an average player, you are dead wrong about the L89 BB3W not being junk (:

*Junk meaning actual precision not matching advertised precision.

I felt that way about the BB 3 wood at first too . But it can be dialed in .

Got to having a giraffe (laugh).  One I have can't be dialling in as it has no dial, same as many who have it say.    It simply does not go straight often enough.

It's nothing to do with dialing in at all.  Distance wise it is mostly just fine, and accepts spin settings just awesome for awesome stopping. EDIT: I guess you called say it's high trajectory appreciation is dialing in, but with respect I think I have that bit covered and not the hard bit anyway (we all appreciate some cross winds hard to judge etc etc)

I am only talking about when it is dinged remember.  I can accept the off ding miss hits getting stuffed on as that's the agreed risk reward per the specs.

What little precision you give up ( if any ) you gain back with awesome distance .

Stays in the bag (just) because of it's distance.  It's not a little precision you give up though, when it wants to go walkabout, it's quite a bit.  Glad you have one that works - please let me know what beer the pro likes so I can shove one up his &**& for the dodgy one he sold me, and many others.

The BB 3W really is crap.  I've seen it start off aimed straight at the pin when aimed a good 10 yards out on a ding.  It just proves the club rating numbers are not completely legitimate.

The tough part about actually improving in this game is knowing what happened on every shot that went wrong.  I am a perfectionist and it drives me absolutely nuts. Was it a typical variation in that club, was it a calculation issue, was it VEM, was the hole playing short or long?  There are so many more variables as well.  How do you determine any of this?
