Nice one on the 91 ft putt, pappylon.

I agree anything over 90 is pretty darn good : )

I made an 83ft putt early in my career here, much to my surprise, using tour starter putter on tourney greens at St Andrews 8th.

I got a 236 footer in my replays, wouldn't be surprised if someone else had longer.

Usually good players don't end up that far away from the hole pretty much ever.  You're really talking about a one-in-a-thousand chance to be that far away from the hole (AvatarLee probably sticks 95% of his approach shots within 15 yards, even if he does miss by 220 ft, only maybe 5% of holes have a green large enough to make room for a 220 ft putt, etc.), and from there, it's probably a one-in-fifty chance to sink the putt.

Most of the replays like that were probably intentionally attempted multiple times.  It's impressive, but I'm a little skeptical that many people have sunk putts over 150 ft during legitimate stroke play.

I tried it hundreds of times before finally making it...back when st andrews front first opened any time my round wasnt going very well I would attempt it until i max out on shots.

fwiw, it's entirely possible to end up with that putt legitimately.  A number of times with a tailwind I have driven that green.  Sometimes on the extreme left portion of the green on mishit drives.

Yeah, that's the one hole I'd say a good player would legitimately be facing a 200 ft putt, but to be honest, I've never driven the green.  I usually just hit 85% if there is a strong tailwind... and 93% or so if there is no wind.  You saying that the green is drivable is a little enticing, but I think I can probably stick 80-yard iron shots better than 200 ft putts, so I don't think I'll ever end up being in that position.  :P

You could also have a 200+ ft legitimate putt on the front pin on 5.  Drive into rough/fescue, attempt to run a punch onto the green, catch a downlope on the landing and end up near the back of the green.
