Although i don't agree with everything you said Sean,i would like to give you kudos for coming back into the forums and explaining more clearly the situation that happened, not the knee jerk reaction in the other thread that only fuelled the flames for other players.

    bigseanbig:

This will probably be the last long winded statement I make in the forums.  Obviously from my previous post (CC vs CC thread) I don’t care what anyone in the forum thinks.  That said I’ll admit I was a bit reactive and could have approached it differently.  This is neither a list of excuses nor is it a apology.  I just want to tell it how it is from my perspective.

    My 10c

I think more or less any club with 250 members would have guys that would use a bug like this, and as you say others did, I'm sure that's right. I can just imagine the conversation in the middle of what was a very rushed 24hr points scramble. " Hey guys i just played BoP & it racked up my score in the clash... woah...lets go...etc etc.."

The problem here is that people were spending real $ to compete, and WGT was taking their $ when they had effectively no chance of winning, and then having found out about the bug being used to win , WGT decides that it's ok, we'll keep everyone's $ and award a future advantage in every event he enters,  to the main perpetrator.

That for me is beyond belief.
It also says to the WGT community, if you find an exploit, use it, its ok with us.

So for me, WGT should be on the receiving end of the anger.

    +1

Easy to shoot first then ask questions.

As for moving on, WGT need a serious rethink on how to make this fair for all clubs, regardless of size and of the ability to buy a prize.

I also thin a serious rethink of the prize is needed. For a start only giving something to one player will create divisions within that club and isn't it a TEAM effort?

Secondly there is no reason on earth why we need this putter in the game with the attributes.

And that for me is the most disappointing thing.
I said it before, exclusive advantages can only kill the game in the long run. If it's not a level playing field, then why spend $ to try compete at the top end..
If a player lose an RG by 1 shot to someone with exclusive clubs, they know that the lip out they had would have dropped on a level playing field, so players will feel cheated.

Apparently, the advantage is not so exclusive.

The most outstanding characteristics seemingly are "gold" and "four hundred thousand". Combined with the mystic "confidential" presentation (news of 10.07), some suddenly found themselves in a hype comparable to the 1849 gold fever.

On a positive note and unlike those old days, the company had no fatalities in this event.

What I see as troubling is ...

    bigseanbig:
Another WGT player which I knew previously joined my club on the 2nd day of the clash because he wanted to help us win and to get the golden putter

To me it appears he knew there was something to exploit. In order to have a shot at the golden putter, he needed a CC first. So he joins yours and starts

    bigseanbig:
He got a group of club members together and used and gifted passes
    . And low and behold
    bigseanbig:
he found a way to do BoP and get points faster
    His plan in full effect.

This is just my opinion from after the facts came out.

Could be, but I assumed he joined my club because I sent him a invite awhile back  before the cc clash was even invented. He and another member found the loophole almost simultaneously.  One posted to do best of par 5 to get more eagles and he posted to do best of putting. They decided to do best of putting

Could be? Fully agreeing with Zio here. How exactly did C. accidentally find this loop hole? He just decided to play BOP in the middle of the clash (not sure why), buy and burn a CC pass and then, when he went back to the clash scores, saw his scores went up?

C'mon man. Are you that gullible? Or do you think we are?

P.S.: Just out of curiosity, did you let that other member (the one who "found" the par 5 loop hole and posted it in your CC forum) stay in your CC? Cause if you evicted C. for the same offense (supposedly), the rest of them who exploited this thing have no business staying.
