Heath, you've been around long enough to know there is always an elite group who usually post the best scores in any tournament.
I remember when I joined Bollox was winning just about everything and posting amazing scores. I'm trying to think who else the big names were back then, only Avatar Lee comes to mind though, I'm sure there were others.
The scores we see today reflect the improvements that have been made in gear. There's a world of difference between G10 irons hitting Callaway Tour iZ balls and the best Nike irons hitting the best Nike balls.
The potential for cheats aside the fault really lies with WGT, they've just made the gear today far too good. Approach shots are getting closer and closer, regardless of conditions and putters are better than anything we used to have.
I just caught the end of Mags shooting a 55 at RSG in, I think, moderate winds. His approaches were very solid but his putting was great, everything dropped. He made the game look so easy it was unreal.
It appears that if you know your clubs and how to work the wind then 18 under and better really is an option a lot of the time.
