Early this spring, WGT announced that Bandon Dunes was to be released this Fall. We are about one month away from winter. Does anyone know if this course will be released before December 21st? Also, I read that it is not going to be an 18 hole stroke play course, rather a 9 hole par 3 course. What type of course is Bandon Dunes going to be?

The half baked "piss all over your customers" boring type

god forbid they dip into their endless funds generated from
cc pass hoax clashes and overpriced animation of golf balls
to properly map out a fully functioning 18 hole course.

we used to get 2 courses a year - 2! remember those days?
when a top putter would run you 700 credits, and a sleeve would go for 200?
when did we start paying more for less?? :[

GMASTER007, I've been playing for less than 3 weeks and it's been obvious to me from the outset that this game is dominated by the concept that the "punter" must pay. Holes that can't be reached in regulation; the never ending new equipment releases; the same equipment released at a higher level (and price); purchased balls depreciating in non-paying tournament situations (where players get to learn the game); brush on the lip of bunkers preventing any forward motion.

These all pale against the single mindedness of the income-driven nature of WGT. Even the prizemoney paying tournaments generate income for WGT - 16 players ante up 100 credits each for a total prize pool of 1440 credits  (2 x 144, 1 x 432, 1 x 720). That's a 10% skim for the house.

As you can see, I have a couple of issues with the game but I do still enjoy playing.

We have no one to blame but us, we payed for it rather than forgetting about our ego and not buying those items . Until we as a whole ,and not a very small group put our foot down and stick together the prices will continue to go up , and you can bet the farm on that.

Spot on Woodo. Folks love going on about WGT greed but it's the members low average ego driven greed that fuels the fire here.

Heavy deja vu is the only explanation for this. Or maybe Zio called it right.  ;)

I want to throw somethings out there that may help us WGT members. First off, how about coordinating a worldwide WGT boycott day. We pick and arrange through networking, social media, etc a day in the future to stay off the game entirely for 24 hours. Now this will only be a small dent in the WGT empire but it will show them that we have the ability to 'flex' our voice and hear our concerns. (WGT currently rarely responds to member emails, forums, error reporting, customer service complaints and questions, etc.)

Secondly, along the same process we could form a WGTPA (Player's Association). One of our members could create an individual site for WGTPA members or we could create something through Facebook or another social media platform. I have met 100's of people on this game and 99 percent of them would support a group similar to this. I have a feeling that many of you are in a similar situation as myself.

I'm interested in everyone's opinions and/or suggestions. I would be willing to take the lead on this unless we have some volunteers, in which case I would be happy to help in any way. I'm not looking to start a revolution but I believe something like this could have a positive impact on WGT members playing experience.

What years were those that WGT added 2 new 18 hole stroke play courses?

Edit: Not counting the 2 TruGolf couses WGT didn't make, it looks like WGT only added 2 courses in 2 years (so far) - 2010 & 2011.

    2008 - Kiawah

2009 -  Bethpage Black (US Open)

2010 - Oakmont (US Open) & St Andrews

2011 - Congressional (US Open)  -  Royal St. Georges -  Cabo Del Sol

2012 - Olympic (US Open) - Chateau Whistler

    2013 - Merion (US Open)

    2014 - Pinehurst #2 (US Open)

From the WGT Golf News posted Nov. 18:

    2014 WGT Virtual Tour Championship

    • Final Round - Thu 12/11 to Sun 12/14 - single-play round on a brand new WGT strokeplay course to be announced (will be released on 12/10 for practice rounds

Bandon Dunes was said to be 18, par 3 holes from the Bandon Dunes golf courses. Nine of the 18 holes were voted on by WGT players.

It seems something has delayed the addition of Bandon Dunes.
