Beer....is there anything it doesn't make better?

    Reality

Reality is relative to ones circumstances and environment.

If I was living on a totally self sustaining small island in the south pacific somewhere, with whom ever I wanted to be there with when I wanted - and a crazy border collie. Beer would, well ya not really be able to improve on that in any way at all not that I could see, nope....

On the other hand if I was stuck in some god forsaken muddy, cold, one room shack, stuck in the middle of some constant live fire war zone in the Ukraine in the winter, with no heat, scavenging for scraps of food or what I could kill, while trying not to get shot at... Ya, a fu*kin beer would, for whatever brief period of time, make that reality just a little nicer, better in some way. That is providing I liked beer to begin with. If that beer happened to be a Guinness, well all the better.

    Sayin....

either way, the circumstance & environment remain without change...even with vodka

The one constant in life I've found is that nothing ever stays the same - including circumstance and environment, which are constantly evolving and changing!

And anyway, isn't reality what you think it is? Your reality is probably very different to others, yet we live on the same planet and we are all human (well, most of us).

So, if beer makes you happy, your circumstance and environment, ergo your reality, become happier too? Just in the same way a crazy border collie (or 3 whippets) would have a similar effect.

This is all a bit deep for WGT land isn't it? lol. :)

Meter stutter makes me hate playing WGT and is why many players will abandon ship as soon as a better alternative comes along. It's the single biggest complaint in the game by a mile.

If it wasn't for my CC I would have left WGT a long time ago. I get so pissed off with having to WD tournament rounds because the meter freezes (hook) or jumps (slice) my shots and ruins my game.

I'm not blaming WGT, it's technology that's the problem.

The meter is a technology fail that's been complained about since forever. Even if you perfectly judge every shot to land within a yard of the hole the damn meter kills your game.

By now most players should know that you can go through the various processes of clearing cache and closing background programs and blah, blah, blah.

That may well help if you weren't doing that already but there are issues both ends.

At the end of the day this is a little Adobe flash based browser game. As with any of its kind performance stability and consistency can be up and down. It's possible for WGT to improve the meter performance but I'm pretty sure if they're programmers working with programming for flash they're going to be limited by that technology.

In other words performance issues means waiting on Adobe to evolve (timescale unknown) in the meantime they can repeat the same message - 'Clear your cache etc...' and focus their attention of providing gimmicks as a distraction (like gnomes) or doing something useful (like the CC developments).

...eventually if there are some performance changes, it's unlikely to be a huge leap forward but a slight improvement. Players with lousy or fluctuating internet speeds are always going to have problems as are players who's systems are running slow.

Really there's no point complaining about meter stutter. These are the choices:

    1) Put up with it

    2) Upgrade your internet speed (if that's the problem) or put up with it.

    3) If 2 isn't an option move somewhere where you can get fast internet or put up with it.

    4) If your internet speed is fine but your system has performance problems in general, sort them out and fix them or buy a new computer....or put up with it.

    5) Don't put up with it and leave WGT for a stress-free life.

    6) If you can't leave WGT seek help from a support group for WGT addiction.
