There is a much different vibe to this game now from just a year ago. Here are my observations.
First off, It seems that you are now a cheater until proven otherwise these days on wgt. World golf tour has decided to keep quiet on the subject. Maybe they think acknowledging the fact cheating is going on will somehow hurt their business or possibly grow the idea that all top players on the leader-board cheat... but in fact it's the very opposite. Acknowledging the fact it is going on and telling us what they are doing would go a long way. We all know they are avoiding the subject because they know it is real but they have to answer all the questions and to take action which apparently they don't have the resources for. It seems like a constant stream of speculation between personal acquaintances and random consistent forum posts. So we all know at this point that cheat IS going on. Yet WGT is adamant to avoid the subject. The speculation of cheating and lack of wgt communication on the issue is taking all fun out of the game.
But! This wasn't the reason for this post though, and trust me I know there are many who will love to jump on me and try to start crap. I expect that to happen and at this point you particular people really don't matter to me. Besides if I had a response, I would be screened.
The reason for this post is to point out an observation I've made in the last month in relation to the current cheating speculation going on world golf tour. This has caused the top players to start video recording their play. This has not only shown that you can play at the highest level AND not cheat but it has also I think proven another fact that has been speculated over the years.
I urge everyone to actually watch fmagnets videos. Analyze his game. In doing so I have realized something. Watch how much he misses the din ( which isn't a whole lot). Watch how much distance he loses because of missed dings, and how far it goes off line.
This isn't taking a thing away from fmags. He's a great player... a top tier player. But half the time I see him setting on a yardage and I'm thinking he needs 1 more yard power, 2 more yards, 2 less yards and I tend to be right... sometimes I agree... Any way you slice it, he's consistently close enough to make putts which in my opinion is 10 feet or closer... he does that. Sometimes he is outside that mark and that's what the top tier players do, they make those putts too.
Now, for me. Ever since I have won the trip to this years us open at pinehurst, the game has changed drastically for me as far as consistent results in the top competitive avenues especially. Slight missed dings can either mean a very good shot, a shot that goes well offline than what you would expect, or a shot that ends up well short of what a particular club, spin setting and wind direction you would ever expect to result in. We all know fullback into a heavy headwind will not end up well and especially with a missed ding, but this is different. The point I'm making is that the results I'm seeing from fmagnets slight missed dings and my slight missed dings are very different and it seems this very much changed after I won the trip.
Example:
Last tournament I was going for a 56 on the last hole of the golf advisor... which would have probably won the tournament being the fact I shot a 30 on the front, so I would have tied FRIENDofyourWIFE if I had birdied the last hole and a 26 probably would have taken it... There was a right to left wind of about 10 mph. I had about 156 to the hole. I aimed about a pin and a half to the right... I had my distance set perfect and it resulted in a perfect distance yet I missed a hairline late... This resulted in my shot not moving a hair off my original line practically... It hit the green and barely started rolling right growing momentum and ultimately ending up in the bunker resulting in a double bogey putting me into 13th place instead of 1st.
This is the kind off bull I've been dealing with for this entire virtual tour. Okay wgt, you don't want me winning another big tournament.... I get it! But your problem is, you haven't done a thing about the cheating, resulting in more visual evidence on how other top players game reacts. You do NOT treat all players the same... PLAIN AND SIMPLE
