I started a thread about this exact issue about a year ago. This hole is known to always deviate only to the right. I have never had a dinged shot shoot left on this hole.

Wgt obviously made it so it deviates to the water when you do get the full deviation amount for $ purposes.

Now, the question is, if they do this, what other kind of shady crap do you think they do.

I think people are starting to become aware of what wgt is really about.

LOL,  funny how that works with water and other hazards, huh?  I don't think you'll get anybody disagreeing here, Jon.

WGT's response to my shot which ended up like the OP's shot. Doesn't even make sense.

"The shot looks like because it was a high arch, the wind had more chance to affect it"

Thank you for playing World Golf Tour.

    hi guys

interesting discussion. let me mention a few things.

    1. there is so specific hole which has higher chance to deviate than the other. some holes simple are longer than other, so they tend to have higher chance to deviate, but that's just due to circle of precision being larger over longer distances.

    2. more spin you add to the club the higher chance it has to deviate

    3. circle of precision, lets say 48ft is this case, is pretty good actually.. thats circle of 8 yards each way from the aim point (assuming it is 48ft). that means that over 238yard shot, yours can deviate 8 yards each way.   thats pretty good imo.

    4. when you don't hit full club, the club has a chance to deviate more

    so let's summarize

1, he hit, full bs, 2 took alot off the club (too much imo). 3 got a deviation.

counting all 3 together + a risk line, the result was pretty fair. is it unfortunate, yes it is, but is it unusual>? i wouldn't say so

I always thought ding was king. If you hit the ding you should get very little deviation. Certainly not 8yds. Didn't know topspin/backspin affected the deviation, thought only the distance. Learn something new everyday.

With that shot, I would have not even moved the aim market...1 to 3 MPH at that heading...I'd have taken my chances on a tap in eagle, or 12 foot eagle putt..that said...it appears the shot went 234 yard...so was going to be dicey if it would make the green ayways...since we can't see wher the ball landed vis the feed...all I cldl say is play it safe, not sorry.

Unless you had DE on your mind...but I'd sill not play that shot to the right.

Sorry Ian...I actually do...if the pin was back, then yes, but that wind is insignificant for side movement with a wood especially from the distance...again, coupled wit the distance that could barely make the front edge...too dicey IMO...of course I suck...so WTF!

Soooo that 3wd has a circle of deviation equal to 48ft? I find that a little hard to believe. I mean you could park a tractor trailer in that.

probably closer to 20 ft in diameter if we use fmagnets' number of 9 ft for radius.

just for the record dedBunny you are right about 48ft circle and probably larger. I was just confused with my units at the time :)  -Keith
