    Slor,

I'm sure your thrilled with all of the "feedback" here so far.    Sorry couldn't resist.

Regarding the formats ... Deviations are fine with whatever you choose.   In fact I like the league the way it is set up now.   Very simple to follow - not involved.   Just what we need.

I do have 4 things that you may want to consider.

    1) There's not enough reward to win a match.   2 points for a win vs. 1 for a loss just doesn't give winning enough positive incentive.    3 for a win vs. 1 for a tie would work better in my opinion.

    2)  It is sometimes hard to schedule a "tie" in a week.    How about making it 2 weeks per "tie" (by the way it is still hard to remember "tie" doesn't mean no one won the match)

    3)  Alternating games week to week would be fun.  Week 1 = match play, Week 2 = 4 ball, week 3 = 2 ball (alt shot) ... etc. etc.

    4)  Need to have someone responsible be the captains of the league.   The hardest part has been hooking up with some of the other captains to set up the matches.  I know that's not something you control but ... any advice you can offer is helpful.

    Just some thoughts.

I would agree with the above.  A 4-1 win in a tie equates to only 9-6 in points, 3 points for a win would reward good play.  Other than that I wouldn't fiddle with the format too much, keep it simple and flexible to a degree - the more serious it gets the more aggravation there will be.  Please no 4 balls, would be a nightmare to organise.

Arranging games IS the biggest hassle.  Perhaps there should be a time limit each week for team captains to post their teams on the forum.   A time difference guide somewhere or a link to one, would help in setting up games across time zones.

I would keep the season reasonably short, say 8-10 weeks, so divisions of about 8-10 teams only.  If there is more than 1 division, the winners could meet at the end of the season for a Championship Match to decide the overall winner.

Great idea JH --- arranging is the most difficult part.   So if i understand your saying each CC gets 2 people to captain / co captain the teams ... they need to Post the players  by Monday midnight Eastern Time (or GMT whatever --- just pick a time) .. or you forfeit and the other team gets let's say ... 1 1/2 points per match.      Either that or you are penalizing the clubs all set to play.     It's not hard setting up your team ... i do it on Wed/Thurs for the following and notify the other team captain.

I'm not really that involved in the country club league just a dude who wants his club in next season but I think the quote above is spot-on, and that this is how the leagues should be run. I have a few suggestions.

    1) Start sign-ups for new clubs now so that you're not inundated with requests from clubs.

    2) Have different leagues for different places e.g. one around Australia, a few in America and a few in Europe.

    3) Have two or three captains for each team so that it'll be easier to get team sheets etc.

    4) Have winners from each league play each other at the end and have a prize e.g. 1,000 credits each for the winners.

I hope you read these suggestions and maybe use some of them.

    guys

each player selected for there team should arrange there match via the wall its easy if all that participate make some effort ,but  i see teams playing guys that havent played on wgt for 3 -4 weeks  so will not even know they have a match...i think you will find a 4 ball a big headache it seems difficult enough getting 2 players online to play nevermind 4...if the fixture and team for home cc is posted monday and a reply from the away team tues life would be so much easier...how about 4pts for the win and 1 point each if not played and increase the team to more than 5,,
