   That was one tough match with Poolmanic6 ... closer than the 3 & 2 looks, for sure. Slow start for both of us and a lot of burnt edges.  I was just flat out-played ...in a reasonably mistake-free round from me.... just couldn't get enough putts to go in.

  THIS IS AN ADVERTISEMENT

  The Country Club League Summer 2011 Cup has been reworked and launched in this forum. It will last for six weeks from 25 July.

  This cup is not run in divisions but as a single table - the format is not a round robin or knockout, but the Danish tournament format, a variation of the Swiss system. The format has been designed to maximise matches between teams at the same level and minimise disruption from teams that don't show up for their matches (if you remember from previous times I was constantly re-writing fixture lists a month into the league from clubs that disappeared. Not fun.)

  It is a good opportunity for new clubs and additional teams to jump in as the tournament is designed to help you find your level after a couple of weeks of play.

  Just finished Rd 2 match with win1soon.   Not much to say on my end, not my day, was missing everything and Jason was hitting every putt.   Everything started going south for me on #3 with a huge late click on a 5.6ft putt that gave Jason the lead and he never looked back.   A chip in eagle for him to go 4UP and it was basically over from there.   I saw a glimmer of hope on 10&11 when I got two holes back, but all momentum was stopped dead in its tracks with a huge early click by me on 12 that left me in the rough.  He finished me off with an amazing shot on 15 to 2.3ft.

  Jason started the front nine with an amazing -8.   Very good player and a great opponent,  just wish I would have been better competition.

  First I want the thank b0gey for the match. He is a true sport in every regard and never gave in to a pure unlucky game. Neither one of us played the very best as I blasted my ball into water or left myself with a 50 footer on a par 3 :-P. However I was very fortunate to have my putts fall when I needed them to. Looking forward to playing b0gey again in the future... and b0gey..... just remember, "the sun don't shine on the same dogs AXX everyday!!

  Hey JC, when is the first round supposed to be finished by.  Seems like I have been waiting for a long time for my round 2 opponent to show up.

  1st Round - Royal St. George (117)   ~ complete by 7/10
  2nd Round - Congressional  (105)    ~ complete by 7/17
  3rd Round - Bethpage Black  (100)   ~ complete by 7/24
  4th Round - Oakmont  (94)                  ~ complete by 7/31
  5th Round - St Andrews  (91)              ~ complete by 8/7

   

  They still have a couple days to finish round 1.

  Lost the scorecard, but got lucky to get thru another 1up match.  I built a 3up lead thru 13 (bethpage) and then hit a few poor approaches and putts down the stretch.  Meanwhile win1soon turned it up and was dropping birdies, he ended up taking it to extra holes.  He had an inbetween yardage for his approach on the first extra hole and came up a bit short and was unable to make the putt.

  Been insane how many of my last 10 hustle matches have been decided by 1...
