The upper level ATV and Max wedges,  if they added the 62 and 58 degree wedges and they had the 60 yard and 80 yard distances but with the attributes of the ATV and or Max top level wedges,   would you get them?

Thinking for those who like the 60/80/100 yard wedge combo over the 50/75/100 sets.

I've recently added to of the ATV wedges to my bag...(again lol)  but this time for meter speed alone.  Trying to get a complete set from wedge to Driver with the same meter speed.  Putter aside, the only club I have now that isn't a 3.5 meter speed is the the 80 yard CG 60° wedge and that's only because I like the 80 yd much more than the 75 yard distance.  I can fill the gap between the 50yd and 80 yd quite easily by choking the CG's 68yd punch shot.

I suggested it to WGT, but their response was to post it in the forums and that they "check this forum regularly, so this is the best place to showcase your ideas."

Even if they can't get permission from Taylormade to add the two new lofts,  they could always add more of their own "Max" equipment and make it as they wish.

Guess my question is,   who would be interested in 60/80 yard wedges with top level ATV or Max wedge meter speed?

    WGT:

Coming Soon (in the next 30-90 days

Many changes to Country Club Events including new scoring, participation bonuses, and additional SuperPasses per clash

    • New virtual goods from Nike, Adams, TaylorMade, Callaway and Cleveland

Of course, disregard my OP if any of the new equipment will be wedges that fit my suggestion.  ;-)

After all, we are past the 60 day point and the only new virtual "goods"  are the L100 Nike vapor irons.

Maybe new wedges from Taylormade, Callaway or Cleveland are to come with meter speeds to match the top equipment.

no not really.I have never found the ATV's to be as consistent as either the Cleveland wedges or even the Z-Satins that they replaced. And the Max wedges have way too much spin for me to be comfortable with them.

(Edit) I was thinking about the level 50 ish Max wedges that have 5.0 spin. Haven't really looked at wedges much since i got the Cleveland wedges. Didn't realize there was a set of Max wedges with good spin and a slower meter. For me though the almost 1400 credit price would be a major deterrent.

    I use Max, I'm used to them by habit. I have the 4 Cleves and have owned and logged much time with the ATV's. All are outstanding for certain. I am most attracted to the 50-75-100 spread but would welcome a 60-80 addition to the Max family. Or 55-85-105 additions just for greater personal choice. I would likewise be immediately open to buy If a 5.0 accuracy factor were included with 3.5 meter speeds. ;-}

ATVs v Max wedges..hmmm only thing the Max has going is the meter if you really need that.  Seem to remember I was not all that impressed with the Max punching v the cleves.

Be a new set of wedges and most likely also a free rental before I think again.

Interesting. It seems to indicate the subtle difference in strategy. I find the punch - flop attributes of the Max to be most reliable and for me, somewhat deadly.

Regarding the Max,  the Highest level ones,  only have 3.5 for spin but 4.5 for meter.  Make them in 60/80/100 sets but with 3.5 meter and 4.0 spin  was my thinking there.

For me, the last few days with my newly acquired 50 and 100 yard ATV's, I have found them more accurate if not just as accurate/consistent as the CG's for me at least.  I think it is more dings or closer to the ding for me due to a more consistent meter speed.

Not that I think the 3.0 is too fast,  but now that my driver,3wd, and irons are 3.5 for meter speed, I'm finding more consistency with my shots with the 3.5 metered wedges.

Before, I was thinking the wedges didn't matter much at a different meter speed, but then I tested that with replacing the 100yd CG with the 100 yd ATV and found I was dinging with it more, or much closer to the ding.

I also think SP's suggestion of 55/85/105 would be a great set for those with the 125 yard PW's.

Nor do I...only about an annoying 1 or 2 pixels beyond the white line unless I concentrate greater than the comfy 3.5 meter which seems to fit my pace. This additional abnormal concentration paves the way for a 1 or 2 pixel early hit because of anticipation..again, quite annoying...an un-natural partner. And yet the slow meter of the Max allows me to control an early or late hit within careful pixel ideas.

Have never tried the ATV's, but a 100 yard ATV wedge sounds interesting because the results from my CG 100 yarder are less than impressive compared to the 60 & 80 yard ones.

Edit *  just checked and  the ATV has 0.5 less precision and spin, but slower meter and costs 300 credits more.

    Decisions decisions.

If you play like me H you will find that when you play the 50-75's you need the 60-80's and when you play the 60-80's you need the 50-75's...lol
