  You are right in the sense that we receive nothing for playing.

   OH! I see you finally recognize this is a video game!  However in the playing of this game you are able to meet others of a like interest, and become something more than an opponent.  This gives rise to respect for another persons game, their personality, likes and dislikes, etc.  In the reading of your entries this means nothing to you.  It is your loss not theirs.   MY NICKLE...
